President’s Message

The Canadian Home Builders Association has been the voice of residential construction since 1943 . Our organization is committed to working together with stakeholders to improve the standard of building and provide education for both the consumer and the builder .

Our association is focused on building better homes, creating affordable housing solutions, while advocating for builders when it comes to policy change at the local municipal and provincial levels . As our housing market continues to boom and the cost of housing continues to rise, I feel that it’s more important than ever to take housing affordability into consideration .

The association’s Government relations committee has been very active and hard at work consulting with municipalities, key stakeholders, as well as our provincial board to streamline the building permit and development process . Several initiatives are being put forward at a provincial level to push our provincial leaders to make changes . We are grateful to have the opportunity to engage with Provincial leaders and Municipalities and look forward to further consultation this year . We’re excited to see what 2022 has in store and are confident that our industry will continue to thrive, and that our builders will strive to uphold our associations core values of Professionalism, Integrity, Community and Sustainability while continuing to elevate the standards for building exceptional homes .
