Bars! Bars! Bars! Medieval rooftop bar

The Alps Hotel stands tall, inviting and grand From the moment you walk in, you're struck by the impeccable design of the hotel, which seamlessly blends the modern with the traditional But perhaps the biggest draw of the Alps Hotel is its rooftop bar - the Medieval Bar. Perched atop the hotel, this bar gives a captivating view of the Mau ranges and Lake Nakuru It's the perfect spot for sundowners, the bar is abuzz with the happy clutter and clang of everyone that got there befroe me

As I walked up the stairs to the Medieval Bar, I could feel my heart beat just a little faster. I had heard so much about this place, and now, finally, I was here As I reached the top of the stairs, the view that greeted me was breathtaking The sun was just beginning to set, casting a warm glow over the city The Mau ranges in the distance looked like they were on fire, and the still waters of Lake Nakuru were a deep shade of orange.

The bar itself was elegant and sophisticated, with comfy high stools and ambient lighting The staff was friendly and welcoming, and they made me feel right at home As I settled onto my seat, I couldn't help but marvel at the view It, I thought to myself was something to write home about The menu at the Medieval Bar is extensive, with a wide variety of drinks of both local and imported I decided to try the house specialty - a cocktail made with fresh passion fruit, vodka, and lime juice It was the perfect drink for a warm evening, and it was so refreshing that I ordered a second one

As I sipped my drink and took in the view, I noticed that the bar was starting to fill up. Couples, friends, and families had all gathered here to enjoy the sunset and each other's company. The atmosphere was lively, and the soothing sundowner music made for a memorable evening

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the view from the Medieval Bar became even more spectacular. The sky was a riot of colors - oranges, pinks, and purples - and the Mau ranges were now silhouetted against the fading light. It was a truly magical moment, and I felt lucky to be able to witness it from this vantage point

As the night wore on, the bar became even livelier The staff was attentive and friendly, and the music was just the right volume - loud enough to create a festive atmosphere, but not so loud that you couldn't hold a conversation. I ordered another drink and settled back into my seat, content to watch the world go by I looked around the bar and it hit me that the Medieval Bar had something for everyone Whether you're a solo traveler looking for a quiet spot to unwind, a couple on a romantic date, or a group of friends out for a night on the town, this bar caters to all. The view is undoubtedly the star of the show, but the drinks, music, and atmosphere are all top-notch as well

As the night drew to a close, I felt a sense of contentment wash over me The sundowner at the Medieval Bar had exceeded my expectations in every way. The view was unforgettable, the drinks were delicious, and the atmosphere was lively and welcoming. It was the perfect end to a perfect day in Nakuru

In conclusion, the Medieval Bar at the Alps Hotel in Nakuru is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable sundowner experience. With its spectacular view, extensive drink menu, and lively atmosphere, this bar is a true gem in the heart of the city. So the next time you find yourself in Nakuru, make sure to stop by the Medieval Bar -

Forking Forking Forking around around around Hudsons

Do you love burgers? Well, I just had the most epic burger experience at Hudson's Bar and Restaurant, and I can't wait to tell you all about it!

First of all, the location is unbeatable. It's perched on a little private hill just a hop skip and jump from Nakuru, and the view is breathtaking The cozy atmosphere and '90s music playing in the background made me feel like I was at a friend's house, and I was ready to chow down on some serious grub

Now, let's talk about the burger. When I ordered it, I had no idea what I was in for. But when it arrived, my eyes nearly popped out of my head. This burger was massive and juicy, with a thick patty cooked to perfection The bun was soft and sweet, and I could tell it was fresh as can be

But the toppings! Oh, the toppings. Crispy bacon melted cheddar cheese, fresh lettuce, and ripe tomato all came together to create a flavor explosion in my mouth I was in burger heaven, and I didn't want it to end.

But what really impressed me was the quality of the ingredients The beef was locally sourced, and the veggies were full of crunchy freshness as if they had just been picked from a nearbygarden. The bacon was thick and crispy, and the cheese was perfectly melted It wasn't just a burger – it was a work of art.

As I savored each bite, I couldn't help but appreciate the effort and care that went into crafting this masterpiece It wasn't just a hastily thrown together meal, but a labor of love from the kitchen staff And the fries! Don't even get me started on the fries. They were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with just the right amount of salt I could have easily eaten a whole plate of them

But even as I indulged in this burger bliss, I couldn't help but think about the bigger picture. In a world where fast food chains dominate the burger scene, it's refreshing to see a restaurant that values quality. Hudson's Bar and Restaurant isn't just serving up delicious burgers, but they're also supporting local farmers

As I finished my meal, I felt satisfied in more ways than one. Not only did I have an unforgettable burger experience, but I also supported a business that aligns with my values. I highly recommend Hudson's Bar and Restaurant to anyone looking for a burger experience that goes above and beyond. I can't wait to go back and try their other menu items!

Nestled in its own private garden Cobbs carriage offers a cozy and character-filled accommodation option that is perfect for those looking for something a little bit different

The history of the Cobbs Carriage is just as fascinating as the accommodation itself. Originally converted by Powys Cobb in the late 1920s to use on his farm on the Mau, the carriage has since been retired to Kenana Farm where it has been tastefully modernized to include electricity, an outhouse bathroom and loo, and covered cooking and meal areas

As soon as I stepped inside the Cobbs Carriage, I was transported back in time The vintage details and charming character of the carriage were simply enchanting Despite its age, the carriage has been well-maintained, and the modern amenities made for a comfortable stay The bed was cozy and inviting, and the surrounding garden added a sense of peaceful seclusion I could hear the sounds of nature all around me, from the chirping of birds to the rustling of leaves in the wind. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. In the morning, I woke up to the soft light filtering through the windows of the carriage. The cooking and meals area was the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and a light breakfast. I couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such a unique accommodation option

Of course, the charm of the Cobbs Carriage is just one aspect of the overall experience of staying at Kenana Farm The farm itself is a fascinating place to explore, with the many activities they offer, as well as its sustainable farming practices

Of special note is the farm's commitment to community, this is evident in its provision of a home for the highly successful Kenana Knitters women's group It's clear that Kenana Farm is a place that prioritizes sustainability, community, and a connection to nature.

As a traveler, I highly recommend a visit to Kenana Farm and a stay in the Cobbs Carriage. It's an experience that you won't soon forget, and one that offers a unique glimpse into Kenya's agricultural heritage Whether you're a nature lover, a history buff, or simply looking for a cozy and character-filled place to rest your head, the Cobbs Carriage is the perfect accommodation option for your next trip to Kenya
