Editor’s Story Fashion is one of the most collaborative industries. With the diverse mix of the stylists, photographers, models, graphic designers, editors and creative directors the common thread that makes this magazine cohesive is their passion for life. Intrigue is a magazine focused on giving our readers the latest trends in fashion, music and film and cultivating them to the world we live in. Focusing more on street style with a chic spin we want our readers to become aware of the newest stores, newest stars, but the real people behind the success, not the faux glitz fame driven people who they are perceived to be. Transitions are hard to handle. But why make them difficult. The transition from winter to summer is often the hardest, but with new beauty tips and a new summer romance why fight the change. Embrace it. From the early 30’s to 2013 we can all learn a thing or two from the beloved story of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.

Till Death do US Part “Two households, both alike in dignity”- William Shakespeare’s Romeo & Juliet For readers who are unfamiliar with the greatest love story ever told, Romeo & Juliet is about two opposing families, the Montague’s and the Capulet’s. Romeo, who is a member of the Montague clan falls madly and passionately in love with the daughter of the Capulet household, Juliet. Due to their families’ quivering hatred for each other, they are forbidden to be together. Juliet’s mother and father have arranged her marriage, but she forbids to marry anyone other than Romeo. She goes to the local apothecary to find a remedy to fake her death so when she awakens she can run away with Romeo. Their young love is poisoned when Juliet takes the remedy that stops her heartbeat long enough for Romeo to find her “dead,” and kill himself. He finds no sense of living without his true love. Centuries pass and the forbidden love story of Romeo and Juliet still remains a tale that relates to people of every age, social class, and education. Inspired by Baz Luhrman’s 1996 adaption of Romeo & Juliet and the lookbook based on the star-crossed lovers by Wildfox, this unforgettable love story remains alive in our summer issue. The combination of layered, grungy 90’s clothes, Roman crosses and Italian stain glass windows inspired the looks of our Romeo, Juliet and Romeo’s best friend Mercutio. The modern day style of the clothes and atmosphere lends us to a modern day take on this tragic story. The hatred of two families destroys the lives of the ones they love. This is a relatable topic to how today people are judged or hated by their race, color or reputation. Before this grows into a sappy response to violence the main idea is this: we should not give up on each other. This world would be a different place if we chose to love one another rather than collapse into hatred. Just think, what would have happened if Romeo & Juliet were set in modern time? Maybe their story would have ended differently...

Tragically Beautiful In a world where beauty is held to the highest standards, one must know what products to use to achieve their tragically beautiful appearance.
