Autobiography of Lin Chia-Chi My name is Lin Chia Chi, now a senior studying in the Department of English in the Chengchi University. In terms of my work experience, I have had certain administrative work experiences, and they all have taught me a lot, such as my professor’s administrative and accounting assistant, part-time worker at the English Department, and a freelance translator at the Shinewave International Corporation, just to name a few. Given the connection of this job offer, I would like to start with my administrative jobs. I have been an administrative assistant of a professor in our department for almost three years. What I have to do is to transcribe the professor’s recordings for research, and sometimes to contact her students for meetings or reunions by email. The duration of this job is also the longest job I have ever taken so far because all these tasks I can finish at home. Despite a seemingly soho job, it requires self-restraints to complete the tasks on time. Plus, I was also the professor’s accounting assistant who reported what the professor bought and applied for reimbursement. Thanks to this job, I was offered a great opportunity to learn the workflow system (電子公文系統). Different items and purposes require different forms. It took a while for me to familiarize with the system, and before long everything went smooth. The reason why I quitted is due to my miniature research on Comparing Negative Words In- and Out-of Context. I evaluated my own ability and found that I could not strike a balance. Before leaving, I found a credible friend to take over my job. Last semester I worked in the office of our department. The job is to answer the phones, receive/send mails and parcels. Sometimes foreign students come and inquire information on courses, I solve their problems and introduce them which teaching assistant they are looking for. Last but not least, I am also a freelance translator at the Shinewave International Corporation, where the trainer has taught me several practical translation memory tools step by step, and I have chances to practice IT translation right away either testing or dealing with projects. Basically throughout my work history I work independently most of time, except for as tutors, and I can complete tasks by myself or with teamwork.

林佳琪的自傳
我是目前就讀於國立政治大學英文四的林佳琪，就到目前為止的工作經驗來 說，我有過一些行政和文字方面的工作經驗，也從這些工作獲益良多，像是擔任 系上教授的行政助理和報帳助理、系辦工讀生，以及翔威國際的兼職譯者等等。
我想先談談我的行政工作經驗，性質和台師大英語自學教室專任助理這份工 作或許有些相似之處。我擔任系上教授的行政助理將近三年，我的工作包括謄錄 逐字稿，有時候也透過電子郵件替教授安排導生聚，這份工作也是到目前為止我 做最久的一份工作，因為大部分的工作我都能獨立完成。儘管這是一份在家就能 做的工作，卻需要極大的自制力才能在時限內完成工作。
此外，我也是教授的報帳助理，工作內容為處理教授購買的書籍、器材或設 備申請清冊。多虧了這份工作，我有機會學習如何使用電子公文系統，不同的物 品和目的要求不同的表格及處理程序。一開始我費了一些功夫熟悉電子公文系 統，但不久後就上手。擔任一年後我不再繼續為教授報帳，是因為我參加了國科 會大專生研究計畫，評估自己的能力後，覺得自己無法在打工、研究、課業和社 團間取得平衡。離開工作崗位之前，我找了一位可靠的朋友接替我的工作。
上個學期（大四上）我在系辦擔任工讀生，工作內容包括接聽電話、跑公文，以 及收發教授郵件和包裹等等。偶爾會有外籍生來詢問課程資訊，我會解答他們的 問題，或是引導他們到執掌該業務的助教。
最後我想補充的是，我也是翔威國際的兼職譯者，我在這裡學到好幾種實用的翻 譯記憶軟體，而且立即就有機會練習資訊科技翻譯，不管是試譯稿或是接專案。 整體而言，除了擔任家教時，大部分的時間我都是獨立完成工作，與此互補的是 社團經驗，有很多溝通協商的機會，因此我是一個能夠獨立作業，也能團隊合作 的人。

收割服務的果實 書院記者 林佳琪報導 財政系吳文傑老師開設服務學習課程，其主要目的是關懷失親兒，他表示他參與 了兩個這類的第三部門組織──「世界展望會」及「失親兒顧問協會」 。由於「世 界展望會」人手、資金充足，而「失親兒協會」顯然更需要志工的熱心投入，因 此他近來較著重於協會的部份。此外，協會的據點正好也在木柵，近水樓臺，開 設服務課程到此協助。然而他希望服務課程不該只是湊學分，而是培養同學養成 服務的態度，因為短期的服務，對失親兒其實是造成二度傷害。 指南服務團的副隊長黃勝文，在簡報中穿插了活動剪影及影片，亮出口號「以愛 心提供服務，以服務傳播愛心」，分享服務學習的成果。與宜蘭縣合作服務已長 達十三年，定期舉辦營隊，通常是五天四夜，主要活動有健康早操、英語教學、 英文教唱、大地遊戲，以及最能團結隊員情感的自行準備晚餐，雖然看起來不太 能吃，但在深山部落裡，大家還是會吃個精光。有時候帶完一梯次的營隊，隊輔 們揹著行囊走上遊覽車，孩子依依不捨，甚至在車身後追跑，每當看到孩子們純 真的笑容，總會觸動內心深處失落已久的感覺，在他們無邪的臉龐上閃耀。也冀 望藉著服務的心，種下服務的種子，讓這種精神持續地傳承下去。 愛愛會外交系三年級施致如同學簡單介紹愛愛會的運作，每經過一個學期就算一 屆，至今已七十五屆了。愛愛會內部又分為三個組別：小雨組、青少組和長青組。 小雨組負責關懷自閉症小朋友，社員帶孩子們特地到游泳池水療，除了容易照顧 到每個孩子，更能以不同的服務方式，吸引孩童注意。青少組則固定每周六到新 北市烏來區的烏來教會部落一對一課輔，由於青春期這段尷尬的年紀，社員需要 和他們談心，緩和他們的矛盾心理。長青組每年暑假會舉辦長青營，與台北縣萬 里鄉的仁愛之家合作，負責人透露必頇要很有耐心，因為有些老人家行動不便， 需要別人協助如廁或清理糞便，她也因此學習到如何與服務對象溝通。 教育部專委傅木龍先生遠從花蓮趕來，準備許多例子與師長同學分享。亦從各個 不同的層面切入，探討服務學習的概念。傅先生推薦同學閱讀《先別急著吃棉花 糖》 ，並引用其中一個問題： 「一片荷葉上有三隻青蛙順流而下，其中一隻決定要 跳進河裡，請問荷葉上還有幾隻青蛙？」正解令人出乎意料，「答案是三隻。」 因為「做決定」和「真的去做」是不一樣的。藉此鼓勵同學「服務」不必推託畢 業後、工作賺錢後才實行，當下才是一切。

我形我塑，政大之窩 書院記者 林佳琪報導 身為大學生，不要再宅在豬 窩般的宿舍啦！為促進本校 住宿學生養成良好生活習 慣、愛好整潔及維護公共衛 生，主辦單位擬藉由競賽方 式，激發學生責任心及榮譽 感，以期達到整潔強身、美 化環境之目的。放下手中的 零嘴，視線離開電腦，來瞧 瞧別人用心佈置宿舍，誰說宿舍沒有「家」的感覺？ 參加對象包含公共區域組、寢室實地訪視組、寢室網路票選組。公共區域組評分 重點在於舍區文化風格營造，含創意及美化成果。寢室實地訪視組則著重於含寢 室走廊淨空、房內外佈置及整潔美化。至於寢室網路票選組包含門面設計、寢室 內外佈置及整潔美化。 自強宿舍公共區域組，今年的黑馬──五六舍，主動訂下「萬國博覽」的佈置主 題，一踏進宿舍區便能看見飄揚的萬國旗，由宿胞手工製作，佈告欄也以世界地 圖為海報背景。交誼廳充滿了濃濃的「鄉村風」，幾張竹椅和幾盆綠色植栽，五 六舍導覽介紹： 「原本是玻璃桌，我們鋪上幾張桌巾，就很有「家」的感覺了。」 七八舍交誼廳重新裝潢後煥然一新，宿胞蜷在新添購的沙發上談天、吃飯或讀 報。美中不足的是缺乏活潑佈置，少了一些「窩」的親切感，反而更像旅館。 評審一致認為今年自強宿舍區的寢室，大多走「簡約風」 ，佈置方面則稍嫌遜色， 但仍掌握競賽重點──整潔，參賽者的書桌、床舖、物品擺放井然有序，有些同 學利用小卡或便利貼，裝飾原本慘白的牆。還有幾間寢室鋪上巧拼，木紋巧拼營 造出溫馨舒適之感，稀釋原本鐵製窗戶、床鋪和衣櫃的生硬疏遠，也有幾間鋪上 藍紫相間的巧拼，彷彿來到兒童遊戲區，令人不禁墜入童年回憶的漩渦之中。

More Than One Year One year passed. Is there anything different? The hall is still facing the fountain. The restaurants for students are still crowded with people. The lawn in the center of the playground still spices the air with some youthful smell. The trail lined with maples are still spreading romantic atmosphere. The scenery seems to be the same, but they, the maple nymphs, make it different. They change their make-up and dressing according to the seasons—light-green tender shoots and tiny twigs in the spring, luxuriant leaves in the summer, then those leaves dyed with brown hues in the autumn, and leaving them and all the burdens in the winter. I enjoy the moment when I climb down the slope from the hillside alone. Stepping down some hundreds of stairs of Hao Han Slope, I am embraced by breathtaking scenery. Trees standing sentry along the trail are harmonious with the spacious azure sky. Houses at the foot of the hill are as small as building blocks as if I could rearrange them as long as I reach for them. After pondering and taking a deep breath, I keep treading down. Sometimes I just cannot help but to stop myself to appreciate the waving with the wind, to smell the sweet scents, or to listen to the sounds the maples. They strike up a conversation with me. We become friends. I have never thought that we can be such close confidantes. We share numerous firsts, at least my new undertakings. Like most college students, we discuss homework, 17
write group papers, or gossip at the mealtime. Mostly, we are fond of squandering time together. The collection of the second “NCCU & Me” English Creative Writing Contest 38
The nymphs make not only the scenery changed but my narrow eyesight, monotonous thoughts, as well as invariable life different. On a meaningful day, they drag me out of the dormitory as an otaku and carry me to take the gondola at Moukong. The sun smiles at us. The food is so delicious. The trail from Moukong back to the dorm is not so far. Really. It only takes about one hour and more. It is not so long. We are so youthful. They are explorers, and I am a pioneer in my life. Supposed twinkling stars shining in the sky, they may persuade me that it would be such a pity if I miss the beautiful night. I am usually convinced and go upstairs lying on the top floor of our dormitory for stargazing. Right. I am going with the flow, but the return, spiritual relaxation, is worthwhile. At the midnight, we sit on stairs chatting or lie on the bench near the school side entrance counting stars—one, two, three…, singing songs conveying others’ inspiring, romantic, or mournful stories, and disguising as uninhibited vagrants. Why can I spend so much time and precious youth with these nymphs and not feel exhausted? I confess myself not a social person, but they speak the same language as I do. There is nothing we cannot talk about. We can chat from the evening to the dawn at the common room, talk about topics from music to astronomy, and even have a heart-to-heart talk that I have never uttered to a living soul. The nymphs are rather influencing to me. With endless changes, I am still changing. When is the completion? There are no definite answers. One year passed, and another would follow.
