Synopsis
Consider an age where a family spends, on average, eight hours a week together. An age where a group of 20 something’s, with full, exciting lives can spend a whole evening together and not say a word. An age where time is of the essence and checking a friend’s latest Instagram post is more favourable than a lengthy catch up face to face. That age is already here. Is there a way to drag people out of the grips of their beloved tech? Smart home technology-yes, more tech‌good tech. Tasks such as shopping, monitoring the home, even caring for pets can all be accomplished while families, friends and even complete strangers rediscover socialising. This basic human need for happiness is back within tangible reach. Grasp it!

Merging Virtual and Reality
Smarthome technology will blend the virtual with reality. Being in control on virtual devices which then transpires into the real world, the home. This trend will see two sides to the technological revolution that is presently taking place. People will be more connected to their devices. Mobile appliances that are usually most frequently used outside of the home will have more of an impact inside than before. However an increase of robotics in the home also means that there will be more time to spend with each other, increasing sociability in family and friendships.
