Security Companies in certain highly sensitive industries, such as those involved in national defense, may require that auditors have or obtain security clearances. This requirement should be determined well in advance of the audit to permit sufficient time for processing the request. Without the proper security clearance, an auditor may be restricted from certain areas of a company.
