Career: appointed Professor of Midwifery and Gynaecology (1954-63) – joined the Government Health Service being appointed senior accoucher and gynaecologist in 1954. Published a number of papers including: The Manchester Operation [The Chest-piece, 1952, 1(7):p.21-26]; Common pitfalls in obstetric practice [The Chest-piece, 1953, 1(8):p.5-9].126
