“First and foremost I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for this backpack donation. Since joining the YMCA this summer I have seen a huge improvement in my son Joshua which has carried over into the classroom. Before joining the YMCA my son would have constant trouble focusing in class and meeting new friends as he is a Native Spanish speaker learning English. The language barrier has been a huge obstacle that he is learning to navigate on a daily basis. It wasn’t until I enrolled him in the after school childcare program at Los Berros, where he has met amazing teachers, and I am seeing him really flourish. Both teachers Ms. Luz and Ms. Allisa has been working with my son constantly, and I am eternally grateful for their dedication to not just my son but to the other students as well. My son has been improving academically and always thrilled to show me what he learned/created at the YMCA afterschool program. The YMCA has been a great place for my son, and I’m grateful for this resource being available to my family. I want to reiterate that I am beyond appreciative for receiving this backpack and forever thankful for this program.”
