Life-Changing Programs, Lasting Impact “I saw a flyer for LIVESTRONG® in my Oncologist’s office. I had been totally inactive since I started treatment for stage III breast cancer. Radiation treatments ran for six weeks at the beginning of 2024, taking away the little energy I had left. LIVESTRONG® sounded like it was just what I needed. During the 12-week program, we exercised at our own pace and level, pushing ourselves as we saw fit. It was truly a judgement-free zone for workouts and also for sharing our feelings, triumphs, fears & support for each other. I thrived on the positive atmosphere and camaraderie. I looked forward to our meetings and began to appreciate the workouts. We were also encouraged to challenge ourselves in order to improve. I now look forward to attending exercise classes at the Y! I attend 2-5 classes each week. I can now stand up from a chair without pushing with my arms, climb stairs, and can get up from the floor. Best of all, I made a lot of new friends. We continue to support and communicate our joys, sorrows, setbacks & accomplishments with each other via a group text or monthly meetups. I have met other LIVESTRONG® alumni, widening my circle of friends and survivors. Today, I am truly LivingStronger.”
