At Y Camp, the possibilities are endless! Y Summer Day Camps provide children and teens with supervised activities that cultivate values, develop skills, nurture relationships and actively explore children’s imagination.

CAMP REGISTRATION How To Register For Camp To register for camp, visit our website, register and pay online, and turn it in your child(ren)’s immunization records at least two weeks prior to the camp start date, in order for your registration to be valid.

Everyone Is Welcome!

Financial Assistance is available to those who qualify. Applications are available at the front desk. The deadline to apply is Monday, May 24, 2021.

SAFETY AT CAMP Your child’s safety is our top priority. Our camps are accredited by the American Camping Association, who independently audit requirements related to staff, supervision, programming and environment quality. In addition, we have operating guidelines in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 during care.

We meet or exceed all COVID-19 standards outlined by the California Department of Health’s camp industry guidelines.

We have implemented daily health screenings, the encouragement of social distancing, use of masks, contact free check-in, stable groups of children, and strict stay at home sick policies. In addition, we have increased our cleaning and disinfecting practices, the promotion of healthy hygiene, and staff training to minimize the spread of COVID-19. We have protocols in place should a case occur and have been operating successful youth programs since the start of the pandemic. While things may look at little different in camp, our commitment to a fun and engaging summer remain.

SPLASH CAMP AGES 5 - 12

Jr. Lifeguard Camp (9-14yrs) 4th-8th Learn how to spot and rescue distressed swimmers, casual dry-land conditioning, and play fun lifeguard games! Study the American Safety and Health Institute basic first aid skills and have the option to test for certification.

FEE: $220/week Splash Camp Full Day (5-12 yrs) K-6th Splish, splash, we’re having a blast! This super splash camp is designed for the beginner to intermediate swimmer. Swimming lessons will begin each day, followed by onsite entertainment, and water activities in the afternoon. FEE: $210/week for full day Splash Camp Half Day (5-12 yrs) K-6th Splish, splash, we’re having a blast! This super splash camp is designed for the beginner to intermediate swimmer. Swimming lessons will begin each day, followed by onsite entertainment and water activities all before 1pm.

FEE: $145/week for ½ day (9am - 1pm)

DAY CAMP AGES 5 - 12

PEE WEE ARTISTS AND ATHLETES (3-5YRS) PRE-K 9AM - 1PM Campers will create art masterpieces including drawing, painting and arts and crafts. Sports conditioning will include soccer, running, and hand-eye coordination drills to keep campers moving and learning all day long. FEE: $180/week FRIENDSHIP CAMP (4.5-7YRS) TK-1ST Campers will visit our specialty counselors for activities in arts n crafts, sports games, education and literacy and water activities! Your campers will make new friends while having fun this summer! FEE: $190/week OR $155/ 3 days EXPLORER CAMP (7-9YRS) 2ND-4TH Our Explorer camp provides endless opportunities for fun! Explorers will enjoy group activities, allowing them to develop valuable skills and lifelong friendships!

Campers will participate in outdoor activities, water activities and educational fun!

FEE: $190/week OR $155/ 3 days a week.

VOYAGERS (9-11YRS) 4TH-5TH Give your camper an opportunity to build skills and values through activities that uild peer relationships. Campers will participate in team building activities, education and literacy activities, outdoor activities and water activities!

TEEN CLUB (11-14YRS) 6TH-8TH Through different weekly themes, teens are inspired and empowered as they experience traditional camp as they work in teams, play fun games and make new friends. Teens will also have the opportunity to learn and grow by participating in interactive field trips offsite, create and plan camp wide themed activities and so much more! Our goal is for teens to learn to work together, learn new skills, gain better decision-making and conflict resolution skills, while discovering something new about themselves.

FEE: $205/week LEADERS IN TRAINING (CIT) (14-17YRS) 9TH-11TH The Leaders In Training Program is designed to give youth an opportunity to support YMCA Camp programs. Participants must complete an interview process and be selected to take part in this learning experience. Participants will assist counselors in the daily duties, complete service learning projects and organize and help run camp events.

Participants will receive volunteer hours for their time spent in the program. Each participant must attend a LIT training the week of June 28 to participate in the summer program.

FEE: $90/ week

ENRICHMENT CAMP CHEER CAMP AND DANCE CAMP (5-7) K-2nd **Ages and camps vary per week** GO, FIGHT, WIN! This highly energetic camp offers aspiring cheerleaders and dancers an opportunity to receive basic instruction with choreographed dances; various cheer routines and the basics of tumbling. Campers will learn a routine that will be performed at the end of the camp each week. FEE: $180/week CHEM EXPLORATION (7-12YRS) A perfect mix of summer camp fun and hands on learning! Campers get to have hands on FUN, exploring a variety of science activities.

Campers will learn how to combine daily items to create some crazy wacky reactions! Projects will include, dancing raisins experiment, color changing experiments, homemade battery creation and volcano eruptions! FEE: $220/week CODING CAMP (6-12YRS) K-6TH Technology is the new building block for the future! Your camper will learn the basics of coding and create new ways to problem solve and collaborate! This camp will get your camper to expand and grow in new learning methods! FEE: $300/week

DESIGN AND CONSTRUCT CAMP (7-12 YRS) Children are natural inventors; this camp will allow campers to create projects using their interests and imaginations. Using repurposed materials and building supplies, campers will design and race Pinewood Derby Cars, create a Floatation Device out of recyclable materials AND use their innovation to create a project of their own. Campers can construct anything they put their minds to!

FEE: $210/week DINO CAMP (5-8YRS) Campers will spend the week learning about amazing dinosaurs such as Triceratops, Iguanodon, Velociraptor, TyrannosaurusRex and much more. Unleash your inner paleontologist and become intrigued with fabulous fossils, new discoveries and amazing dino tales. Investigate what is new and old about dinosaurs. This camp will include loads of hands-on activities and crafts. FEE: $210/week DIY CAMP (7-12YRS) Bring your imagination to Y camp and get creative with our “Do it Yourself” Camp! We will explore a variety of art projects from scrap booking, to wreath making, ceramics and MORE. Throughout the day we take a break from the hard artists’ work to enjoy games and activities. To celebrate all the wonderful masterpieces created each week, parents and friends are invited to the gallery exhibition on Friday. FEE: $210/week FASHION FUN (7-12 YRS) 2ND-6TH Campers will learn a variety of hand-sewing skills.

Campers will sew a pillowcase, patchwork pillow, beach bag and practice cross-stitching!

Campers will get the opportunity to sew stylish accessories for a doll (please provide own doll).

MINECRAFT ENGINEERING WITH LEGOS (5-8YRS) Bring Minecraft to life using tens of thousands of LEGO® parts! Build engineerdesigned projects such as a Creeper, a Lava Trap, and a Minecart. Create your favorite Minecraft mobs, tools, and objects with the guidance of an experienced Play-Well instructor. FEE: $250/week MINECRAFT MASTER ENGINEERING WITH LEGO (8-12YRS) Bring Minecraft to life using LEGO® parts! Build an Iron Golem, the Nether Portal, and the Ender Dragon. Students will explore real-world concepts in physics, engineering, and architecture while building their favorite Minecraft objects.

FEE: $250/week PAINTING LAB (5-8YRS) K-3RD Get your campers paint brushes ready! This onsite camp will explore different techniques in painting! Campers will get to use fun tools to explore the colorful opportunities in making art! Please make sure your camper is dressed in older clothes, because this camp is sure to be messy! FEE: $210/week PASSPORT TO ART (5-10YRS) K-5TH Campers get ready for an adventure to travel the world and explore, discover the elements of art! Campers throughout the week will rotate through multiple art techniques such as drawing, painting, clay and MORE. Campers will learn the history of the art techniques and learn which cultures still use them today.

SUPERHERO CAMP (5-7YRS) K-2ND BAM! POW! Campers think, dress and act like superheroes!

Campers will explore their own super powers and create their own superhero, build powers, develop a story and find themselves in a real comic book! Get ready to dig deep into character, explore strengths and save the world! FEE: $210/week ROBOTICS (AGES 6-12) Introducing our newest camp for the engineers and builders of the future, Robotics camp! This week-long camp will teach campers the fundamental concepts of robotics, as they make basic robots to perform a variety of functions. This camp is in line with the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) teaching model. The lessons we teach in Robotics camp will give your child a head-start toward not only being successful in any future technology-based classes, but also help them build a love for science and technology that could guide them into what could later become a promising career in the ever-expanding and infinitely marketable tech industry.

FEE: $300/week ROCKETS AND FLIGHT (AGES 7-12) From the dawn of man, we have imagined what it would be like to fly through the air! Rockets and Flight camp! This camp will give campers a wide variety of flying contraptions, and, using these, many contraptions teach them the many ways in which we can propel objects into and keep objects in the air. We will test everything from kites, to gyro-copters, to the grand finale: a completely DIY model rocket that we will shoot way up into the air (talking like anywhere from 50 to 100 yards up if we have ideal flight conditions)! FEE: $220/week WILD ABOUT SCIENCE CAMP (7-12YRS) 2ND-6TH Campers take off into a world of exploration through hands-on experiments including a volcano, crystallization, soda bottle water launcher and much more! FEE: $220/week.

ADVENTURE CAMP PARKOUR CAMP (5-12YRS) **AGES AND CAMPS VARY PER WEEK** Parkour camp will take your campers parkour to the next level!

From basic fundamentals and proper body positioning to advanced skills and spacial awareness, explore creativity through movement in the Parkour program. Bunkers, battle sounds and more will put teams to the ultimate test! Battle stations provide an environment for kids to dive into action.

We will also play team games like Star Wars, Strike and Capture the Flag to keep action exciting. FEE: $210/week

ALL SORTS OF SPORTS (K-5TH) **AGES AND CAMPS VARY PER WEEK** Huddle Up! This camp is designed for campers to learn the basics of all sorts of sports through conditioning: flag football, soccer, kickball and field hockey. Campers will also learn how to warm up, teach drills, and work together as a team, all while havin’ a ball!

KEEPING KIDS LEARNING Summer learning loss is a worry for many parents. The facts are, the equivalent of one month of learning is lost after summer vacation and school year transitions related to the COVID-19 pandemic have put many students behind for a fall start already. While the Camarillo Family YMCA’s Day Camps are focused on recreation, the Y has a responsibility to help families promote learning over the summer. This summer we are committed to: •

Promoting our Hop the Gap program which includes 20-30 minutes of reading after lunch. Studies show that being a bookworm is one of the best ways to sharpen spelling and grammar skills!

Having at least 5 S.T.E.A.M. group activities each week. Problem-solving, critical thinking, teamwork, and a creative mind are key to school success!

Promoting 60 minutes of structured physical fitness each day. Physical health is proven to increase academic performance!
