LINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY
INTRODUCTION As a part of my assigment i had to produce a book showing my photography prints in a compiled way. I found this a really good learning curve to exhibit my work. In this project i wanted to be able to show portraits but not only that i have tried to express emotions through images, showing how people express or repress there feelings and have combined it with art ( line art). Through out my book i have choosen each page to show images of same model. The reason for this is to create some kind of narrative that expressed different emotions/expressions felt by the same model. This is really important factor to my book that i carried throughout. It’s often thought that an artist’s stroke is the purest way to perceive their abilities. As a line winds across a paper and canvas, this continuous band can emit powerful emotions. Thus it’s no surprise that line art or line drawing, is one of the basic element of the visual art. Infact, as one of the seven visual elements of art- along with form, shape, color, value, texture and space- the line is a hallmark of the arts. Line art is often black and white, but not always . in art , a line can be two- dimensional or three dimensional, abstract, descriptive or implied.
It’s important to remember that line art isn’t about painting and drawings and can be form visually in many ways.

During process of learning line drawing, people go through phases that are visually rich and complex before removing what’s not substantive. It’s a maturation process that can be painful as it consisits of letting go, giving up. But, it’s also very demanding as minimalism requests a certain level of perfection. Every element must have it’s sense, it’s utility, it’s intrinsic beauty. 11

Before the development of photography and of halftones, line art was the standards format for illustrations to be used in print publication, using black ink on white paper. Also, line art tends toward realism
