City Cuts Ribbon on New Indoor Training Facility at the Rochester Community Sports Complex
M
ayor Lovely A. Warren was joined recently by City Council President Loretta Scott and Rochester Area Community Foundation CEO Jennifer Leonard to cut a ribbon celebrating the grand opening of the “R-Training Center,” a new training facility adjacent to the Rochester Community Sports Complex stadium at 460 Oak St. “This project represents a win for equity,” said Mayor Warren. “For far too long, the youth of our city lacked the opportunities, access and facilities to train for, and get better at sports, as compared to their suburban counterparts. Today, we begin transforming the quality of life and the future of our young people for the better.” The R-Training Center is the first indoor training center of its kind within Rochester city limits serving Rochester’s student athletes. The project included the creation of a modern, indoor sports training facility that can facilitate both turf and court sports.
road games at Kansas City Chiefs and Tennessee Titans on Sunday Night Football and Monday night football respectively. The next two weeks will tell a lot about how much the Bills have improved over last season. I like the move of benching Cordy Ford for Spencer Brown moving to tackle position and Daryl Williams to Guard spot. This gives Bills a bigger offensive line suited especially for the running game. Their pass protection will improve once given the live game reps needed for them to become a cohesive unit. Devin Singletary had 14 carries for 79 yards and would have more if not benched for fumbling the ball twice. That’s one thing Head Coach Sean McDermott won’t stand for is fumbling the ball or dropped passes will not be tolerated. The Bills schedule is in their favor this season with several games against weaker opponents including the Jets (2), Jaguars, Falcons, and Dolphins. Yeah, I know, Patriots are looking weaker and weaker. What could Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick been thinking by going with rookie QB Mac Jones over Cam Newton? Cam would have given his offense and team a better chance to win. I think Belichick outcoached himself by thinking he could win consistently with Jones over Newton. The Bills defense played well allowing 97 yards while forcing 5 turnovers. Bills Safety Jaquan Johnson making his first career start filling in for Jordan Poyer, had an interception. Bills defense is loaded with young talent at most positions. Once again Mario Addison was invisible and did not register on the defensive SEE YOU AT THE EVENTS! stat sheet.
