ICC Applauds PCB for Successfully Preparing to Host ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025

It was the first ICC event held in Pakistan since 1996.
The International Cricket Council has issued a note of thanks to the Pakistan Cricket Board for successfully hosting ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025.
India won the title for the third time on Sunday (9 March), when the eight-team tournament came to an end.
All 15 matches in the tournament took place in three cities in Pakistan – Karachi, Lahore and Rawalpindi – whereas India participated in all their matches in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates.
Pakistan was hosting an ICC tournament for the first time since 1996; the tournament began on February 19.
“The Pakistan Cricket Board deserves to be congratulated and thanked for its successful bid to host the ICC Men’s Champions Trophy 2025,” said ICC Chief Executive, Geoff Allardice.
“Given that this was the first edition of global multi-team cricket event to take place in the country since 1996, this event meant a great deal for the PCB and everyone who played their part in the stadium renovations, the preparation of the playing surfaces, the delivery of the matches and the ability to host the teams and the visitors should be rightly proud of their efforts.
“The ICC would also like to thank the Emirates Cricket Board for the successful staging of five of the matches in Dubai and for its continued great support to the ICC for staging its major men’s and women’s events.”
