Creative Brief
Background: 1998 proves to be an eventful year for Colt. Especially noteworthy is the return to Colt of the U.S. Government contract for procurement of M-16 rifles in excess of 32,000 units. Complimenting this is a contract for updating 88,000 M-16A1 rifles to the A2 configuration for the U.S. Air Force. Additionally Colt acquires Saco Defense which is a Maine based company specializing in automatic weapons for the military. A revitalized Colt embraces the year 1999 with a backlog of military rifle/carbine orders amounting to approximately 59,000 units. This includes orders for exclusive production of the M-4 carbine extending through the year 2010. On the commercial side, a new acquisition of Ultra-Light Arms, Inc. puts Colt back in the sporting rifle business. Since Colt is the leading weapons provider for the US military, Colt is wanting to have the military personnel fully knowledgeable of its different models and there stats and functionality. Colt is prepared to educate its audience about the anatomy, and physical appearance and structure. Target Audience: Primary audience is military personnel, military support, and security forces. Secondary audience is arms collectors, sportsman, and hobbyists over the age of 18. Creative Brief Con’t and the functionality of the rifles. For the collectors, sportsman, and hobbyist the article will focus on stylization and size. There will be a comparison of the M4 Carbine, and the M4 R0923CQB with statistics of both rifles, and a anatomy preview. Obstacles: Give proper and accurate details for both compared weapons in a minimal amount of space without cutting out critical information. Secondary obstacle are supporters for gun and weapon banning. Key Benefits: They will have an understanding of the statistics of the M4 series rifles.
