THE "I AM IS MORE THAN ENOUGH"

Sunday June 11, 2023, was the Youth & Young Adult Annual Day at Macedonia Baptist Church The Youth controlled the entire service, with Julissa Murdock serving as the worship leader The youth choir sang and seven Macedonia young adults brought the message The theme of the service was “The I am Is More Than Enough ” - John 4:26

George McClendon, Jr. started with the message of “I Am the Light of the World.” He mentioned how those who do not follow Jesus are walking in darkness and once they accept Jesus in their life their paths will brighten. Khalid Armstrong brought the message of “I Am the Door of the Sheep.” He talked about how sometimes there is a door in our lives that is blocking us from moving forward He mentioned how Jesus gives us the strength and ability to go through that door and accomplish whatever is on the other side of it

Justin Brewington spoke on “I Am the True Vine ” In his message he spoke about how Jesus is the true vine and the believers are the branches Genesis Bratcher spoke on “I Am the Bread of Life ” She spoke about how we are not satisfied spiritually unless we have Jesus in our lives

Taylor Rogers brought the message of “I Am the Resurrection and the Life.” She explained that anyone who believes in Jesus will live and never die. Latoya Strachan brought the message “I Am the Good Shepherd.” She explained the relationship of believers with Jesus is that of sheep to shepherd. The Lord is our shepherd; we are his flock. Kymani Clark wrapped everything up with his message “I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life.” In his message, he spoke about how following Jesus is the only journey to God

Macedonia young people shined throughout the service with the songs and messages they brought They kept the congregation engaged and gave them a glimpse of what the future for the young people at Macedonia Baptist Church will be

HEALTH AND WELLNESS

TIPS TO RESET YOUR GUT

If there is one thing I can't repeat enough, it's that health and illness starts in the gut. Here are some tips to help get your gut healthy.

DITCH TOXINS

Get the toxins and irritating substances out of your diet. This means limiting or better yet eliminating alcohol, caffeine, conventionally raised meats, grains, processed foods, refined sugar, and seed oils.

EAT FERMENTED FOODS

Start eating lots of fermented foods such as raw milk, yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, and kimchi. These are rich in probiotics, which repopulate your intestines with the good bacteria needed for optimal digestion and health

TAKE A PROBIOTIC

Take a powerful probiotic In addition to fermented foods, take probiotics in pill form to flood your system with good bacteria such as lactobacillus acidophilus and bifidobacterium lactis You really can't get enough of these, especially when you ' re resetting

SKIP THE ANTIBIOTIC

Don't take antibiotics (unless you really, really, REALLY have to) Antibiotics are the opposite of probiotics They kill off healthy gut flora And in the past doctors have prescribed them way too readily If you ' ve spent significant time on antibiotics, then you really (really, REALLY) need this reset!

EAT

BONE BROTH

Eat a bowl of bone broth at least once a day. Bone broth offers incredible intestinal healing power and disease prevention.

FIND A GOOD MULTI-ENZYME

Take a multi-enzyme supplement (preferable one after every meal)

Digestive enzymes breakdown the foods we eat so we can absorb the nutrients Things like aging, chronic stress, and inflammation can decrease our digestive enzymes

The spirit of the Lord permeated the sanctuary, as the Macedonia Men’s choir led praise and worship The speaker for the hour was none other than our own, Rev Condell Hamilton, whose message left us wanting more “Know the God of your Father,” a fitting message for Father’s Day Rev Hamilton encouraged the fathers to make sure their children know their God. He said “children are seeking things to make them feel better, and we need to offer our children a God that is active in our lives.

The Kingsman Fellowship Ministry presented two awards The first recipient of The Deacon Louis Moses Humanitarian award was presented to the Moses family in honor of the late Deacon Moses who was a true servant leader. Deacon Kewaan Martin was also presented with this award for his dedication to family, church and community.

Macedonia Kingsmen Fellowship ministry (formerly know as the Men’s Ministry) is a group of spiritual men whose purpose is to equip other men to be all that God called them to be in word and deed If you are interested in being a part of this transformational ministry, you may reach out to the president, Minister Hugh Washington.

SOMEONE, GO GET PRIMO!

The Missionary Baptist Association of New York City had their third quarter session on July 26th thru to the 28, 2023 at the Union Baptist Church in Harlem With the theme “The Church: Taking Missions Seriously,” was well attended with active participations Throughout the three days, the overarching theme focused on Jesus Christ, the missionary Christ and how everything God had done in the world and in His Church had missions as its ultimate aim. If only we all had such a conviction!

For the closing session, Minister Norman, Youth Minister, from Macedonia Baptist Church took the puplit and boldly proclaimed the missionary message of the scripture in a sermon titled “Someone, Go Get Primo ” Minister Norman explained that “primo” symbolizes anyone who does not know Jesus Christ. He said Primo could be our family, friends, and even our enemy He said the same grace that saved us; the same mercy and compassion that God gave us; the same sin that God looked beyond; the same will work for “primo” as well If we are taking mission work seriously, as it stated in Mark 16-15, " go ye out to the world," then we ought to go out and get “primo ” He stated, in order to get primo, it requires us to be at the location; we must surrender to the Holy spirit; and we must cry out to the Lord, as Psalm 34-17 tells us that the righteous cry, and the Lord will hear and deliver them out of all their adversities.

As we think about the great missionary challenge of the church, I also want you to think about the lost world that desperately needs the message of Jesus Christ Then, ask yourself the following questions: If not me, then who? If not now, then when? As we think about missionary work, let us get serious about prayer. God’s plan is for his people to give themselves to honest prayer in order that our personal spiritual lives could be deepened to the extent that we could think about others in the far corners of the world who are in desperate need of hearing the gospel message If you are interested in missionary work and want to be part of the great commission of going out into the word to get the “primos,” come Join the Macedonia Missionary Ministry For more information, you may reach out to the president, Sister Terri-Joe Brooks.
