ANNUAL REPORT

Mindful of the limitations of the internet connectivity of students and faculty, the online learning that the University has designed is largely asynchronous. This allows for flexibility of pace and time for studies with provisions for social interaction critical to effective learning. All lecture courses are being conducted online. Laboratory courses are also done online with simulations and videos. Internships, OJTs, Practicums will use alternative learning strategies. Online classes are done through the CEU LEAPS (CEU Learning Engagement and Proficiency System). It is the learning management system (LMS) of the University through which the instruction is administered and delivered. The online courses are well-developed and are based on recalibrated syllabi to ensure that only the necessary and significant topics of the course are covered. Constructive alignment in the syllabi was observed from the course outcomes, learning objectives, learning activities to assessments. These courses are handled by teachers who are fully trained to handle online teaching.

Flexible Learning The teaching landscape is rapidly changing. The advances in Information Technology (IT) and networking channels enabled by digital technology furthered the University to implement new ways of adapting its programs to the demands of transforming educational environment. To supplement classroom instruction, all general education courses and some professional courses were configured for flexible learning using the Instructure Canvas as the Learning Management System (LMS). Students and teachers have actively used the modules uploaded in the LMS starting April 2019. All courses fully utilized the learning management system known as the CEU LEAPS (CEU Learning Engagement And Proficiency System) during the pandemic brought about by the CoVid 19. Positive feedback on the used of the CEU LEAPS were received from both the students and teachers as it helped them continue having an access to teaching and learning even outside the classroom.

Professional and Continuing Education Adherent to its mission of promoting continuous pursuits of career/professional advancement within the CEU community and provide the same to other professionals who seeks opportunities for lifelong education, CEU-PACE delivered 8 trainings/ seminarworkshops for SY 2019-2020.
