CEO Alumni Spotlight

CEO is proud to recognize some outstanding member entrepreneurs. We are happy to share more about our 2012 CEO National Elevator Pitch Competition winner who appeared on last season’s Shark Tank finale!

Ryan Allis, 2014 Alumni Hall of Fame Inductee

Kaeya Majmundar went from a student at Emory University pursuing medicine to winning the largest student pitch competition and getting the attention of the Sharks. Starting with no experience, Kaeya is now an up-and-coming serial entrepreneur. You may remember Kaeya as the winner of the 2012 National CEO Elevator Pitch Competition, when she competed with her idea for a simplified foldable box, the BZBox (formerly known as the EZBox). Her experience with CEO was her first time branching out into the world of entrepreneurship, and it was just the start for her. Kaeya went on with her pitch to ABC’s Shark Tank and pitched on the season 5 finale. Her passion and dedication caught an investment with Lori Greiner. This is just the start for this CEO member, and we look forward to seeing what Kaeya does next! Click here to watch Kaeya’s Shark Tank episode!

Back when he was a student at UNC-Chapel Hill, Ryan Allis was involved in CEO. Having attending the National Conferences, he was inspired to grow his company iContact. From 2003-2012, Ryan led it from a startup to 300 employees, 70,000 paying customers, and eventually sold it to Vocus for $169 million. Today, Ryan is a serial technology entrepreneur focused on systemic social change. He is the CEO of Connect in San Francisco and the Curriculum Developer for Hive. Ryan was an inaugural member of the UN Foundation Global Entrepreneurs Council and has worked with the U.S. Dept. of State teaching entrepreneurship in Cairo following the 2011 Egyptian Revolution. Ryan is an angel investor in 23 companies. CEO is excited to have Ryan return as a Keynote Speaker to the 2014 National Conference and receive the Alumni Hall of Fame Award. Ryan will inspire you with how he was just like you, a student sitting in the audience, to how he turned into an international and extremely successful serial entrepreneur and investor!

Way to go, CEO! UT to Host #CEONat2014 “We are so excited to be the host University for the Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization and firmly believe that this is an opportunity unlike any other. Here in Florida, we are fostering a sense of Get Up, Get Moving and Build your Biz. We aren’t sitting around anymore and the leaders in our cities are making essential changes to label our state as the next entrepreneurial capital.
