How we involve our community
Council engages with the Central Highlands’ community using a variety of methods. Established practices include meeting with community reference groups and holding community consultations, which provide opportunities for people to connect with councillors and council staff.
During the last financial year, Have Your Say, Central Highlands had 4700 visits. A total of 448 people participated in the 75 surveys that were posted on the site. Another successful Seniors Week celebration was hosted at the Bauhinia Memorial Hall in Springsure with 240 guests travelling across the region to attend this signature event in the calendar.

We partnered with Central Queensland University to deliver art therapy and narrative therapy workshops to promote resilience in Central Highlands’ communities.
Councillor consultations and regional general council meetings are held in communities across our region every year. These meetings are an opportunity for residents to meet with the mayor and councillors, ask questions or raise concerns and receive updates on projects in their area.
