We are now in the second year of Vision 2020: A Miracle in the Making – A capital fundraising campaign to provide funds for ten major construction projects in ten years (by the year 2020) to accommodate an enrollment of 2020 students. The first project, the construction the David T. Watkins Building, is complete, and our sights are set on Project #2, the construction of a new library project. God richly blessed CBC in 2012, and we are looking forward to another great year in 2013! With everyone I visit with regarding Vision 2020, I ask them to “stretch.” I don’t want to see what you or I can do; I want to be astounded by what God will do. It’s not too late! You can still partner with CBC through Vision 2020. If you already have, thank you! Thank you so much for your dedication to the ministry of CBC and for partnering with us in changing lives for the cause of Christ.
CBC Day for Vision 2020
The church segment of Vision 2020 has a five-year fundraising goal of $250,000 toward our goal of $12 million for phase I of Vision 2020. September 16, 2012 was the first annual CBC Day. I appreciate the churches who enthusiastically participated and the pastors who led in the challenge among their congregation. I am pleased to report that thirty churches (including three in other states) and one Sunday School class joined in the special emphasis sending special offerings totaling $72,452 to date. This amount does not include individuals who gave generously through their church or any other BMA departmental contribution. This is strictly special offerings received from BMA churches and designated for Vision 2020.
2013 CBC Day for Vision 2020 Set
Mark your calendars for “CBC Day for Vision 2020” on Sunday, August 25, 2013. Churches are again asked to take a one-time offering for Vision 2020 and/or make a pledge to give additional offerings over the twelve months to follow. The proceeds of this special offering will be applied to the $250,000 church segment goal for Vision 2020: A Miracle in the Making capital fundraising campaign. A special area in one of our new buildings will be set aside to recognize the contributions of the churches of the BMA of Arkansas. In addition, contributions of $5,000 or more from any church will be given special recognition. Support from the churches of the BMA of Arkansas will speak volumes as we solicit funds from individuals, foundations and corporations. Be a part of the vision! Plan now to support CBC Day 2013.
Homecoming 2013
I am happy to extend a personal invitation to all CBC alumni and friends to join us on February 15 and 16 for Homecoming 2013. We once again will kick off the festivities with tailgating and basketball games on Friday night. On Saturday, the morning and early afternoon will be filled with activities designed specifically for our alumni, and the events will conclude with the Homecoming basketball games and crowning of the 2013 Homecoming Queen. Won’t you join us? I can’t wait to host you all on campus as you have the opportunity to see how God is working through Central Baptist College!
