What is Project of Terazije Terraces ? Main purpose of project which is planned around 1920, is to connect main axe and square of Terazije Street and River Bank.
What is existing ? Between Terazijski Park and Luke Celovica Park, beside of the original project of Terazija Terraces, two block of residential buildings groups between Ulica Kraljice Natalije and Ulica Gavrila Principa, blocking main axe of pedestrian and forcing them to use one way street without any attraction elements.
What is conclusion of our analysis ? There are many hidden passages – visually and physically – between and in these residental building blocks, blocked by walls, gates, uncontrolled vegetation and height differences of the ground, or these existing but not hidden passages are not in use by pedestrian because of lack of attraction. Main path in use by pedestrians, is more forced but romantic in a way because of main attraction points.
What is our concept of proposal ? Bringing back starting quality of original proposal and idea of connection between Terazija and River Bank via creating civic spaces by not disturbing existing situation, in life.
What is our conclusion about the concept of proposal ? Re-Opening these passages by including residental buildings in the concept of street life, creating attraction points for pedestrians and creating transparency in and between blocks without destroying any existing buildings but by changing ground material more to natural or romantic way of use – like cobblestone – to create connection between main used axes and original project proposal.
