Dr. Eleanor O’Higgins wins prestigious ecch Case Award

Visiting Fellow at the London School of Economics and Political Science. She specialises in teaching, research and publications in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance and strategic management. She is the author of numerous articles in academic and professional journals, book chapters, case studies and newspaper articles.

Dr. Eleanor O’Higgins, UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School, was recently awarded with a prestigious ecch Case Award for her case study on “Ryanair The Low Fares Airline: Whither Now?” Dr O’Higgins won in the Strategy and General Management category. Richard McCracken, Director of ecch, presenting the award said: “Eleanor is a tremendously respected case author and a deserved winner. The ecch award recognises the adoption of her case by faculty and its impact on the learning of students at leading business schools around the world.”

ecch Case Awards are presented annually to recognise worldwide excellence in case writing and to raise the profile of the case method of learning (www.ecch.com/caseawards). The awards (formerly the European Case Awards) have been presented since 1991. Awards are made in up to nine Management categories. ecch identifies winning cases through an objective process – cases are judged anonymously. All cases registered with ecch during the last five years are put forward for consideration. The winning case in each category is the one that has achieved the highest growth in popularity among peers worldwide, based on the number of individual organisations ordering and teaching the case during the calendar year.
