Royal Opera House Ballet - Romeo & Juliet Tickets £15 | £13 Concessions

Composer: Sergey Prokofiev | Choreographer: Kenneth MacMillan Kenneth MacMillan’s famous version of Shakespeare’s romantic tragedy set to Prokofiev’s magnificent score returns to open the 2015/16 Royal Opera House Live Cinema Season. This Romeo and Juliet is rich in the swaggering colour of Verona street life and in sword fights and celebrations, but MacMillan’s focus is always on the complex emotions of the young lovers – especially on Juliet as she journeys through the delirious happiness of first love to a shocked, adult perception of her fate. Daw fersiwn enwog Kenneth MacMillan o drasiedi rhamantus Shakespeare i gerddoriaeth bendigedig Prokofiev yn ôl i agor Tymor Sinema Fyw Tŷ Brenhinol. Mae’r Romeo and Juliet yma’n gyfoethog gyda lliw bywyd stryd Verona ac mewn cwffio cleddyf a dathliadau, ond ffocws MacMillan wastad yw emosiynau cymhleth y cariadon ifanc – yn enwedig Juliet wrth iddi fynd drwy’r hapusrwydd gwyllt cariad cyntaf i ganfyddiad brawychus oedolyn o’i ffawd.

Hoffmann, it opens with the Christmas festivities of little Clara and her family and progresses through a sequence of dreams and enchantments that take Clara on her magical journey to the Land of Snow and the Kingdom of the Sweets.
