EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
PHASE 1: OUTDOOR WARNING SIREN INSTALLATION
Last week, the Office of Emergency Management has worked with MCA (Mobile Communications America) on the installation of five outdoor warning sirens that are located at:
•
Fire Station #1
Fire Station #2
Fire Station #3
Celina Police Headquarters Buffalo Ridge
Monthly testing of the outdoor warning sirens will occur on the first Wednesday of the month at 12:00 PM (depending on weather conditions).
These outdoor sirens are designed to be heard outdoors only. We strongly recommend you have multiple ways of receiving information during an emergency. These sirens are not just tornado sirens and can be set off in the following events:
•
The National Weather Service issues a Tornado Warning anywhere in the City of Celina limits.
The National Weather Service issues a Severe Thunderstorm Warning and indicates the potential for destructive winds of 70 MPH or greater.
Observed hail of 1.5” in diameter or greater. Other emergencies as directed by the community’s designated public safety officials.

STORM SEASON IS UPON US, LET’S TACOBOUT IT!
Some (or most) of us may not know the difference between a Watch and Warning when it comes to alerts during severe weather season. Lucky for us, Celina’s Office of Emergency Management is here to break it all down for us.
