PLAY CONNECTED

PARKS & RECREATION GUIDE

The Parks & Recreation Department is excited to announce a new quarterly guide for our residents, Play Connected! Be on the lookout for the first official Play Connected quarterly guide that will be available online as well as pick-up locations for a limited print edition this spring. This quarterly guide will fill you in on what’s new and noteworthy with our Parks & Recreation Department, such as new fitness programming at the Ralph O’Dell Senior Center, Celina sports leagues, updates on various projects like the Parks Master Plan, coach and player spotlights, and more!

A Note from the Director

CODY WEBB

Celina Parks team is in full swing with scheduling games and practice for our youth baseball, softball, soccer, and 7-on-7 team starting this spring. We’ve partnered with Celina ISD to host games again at Moore Middle School and Bobcat Stadium behind the high school. Our recreation team has worked countless hours during the day to make this happen and get everyone the best customer service we can provide. Maintenance staff have reworked fields to maintain the best and safest playing surface in North Texas by cutting lips, power washing material back into the cut out, turf fertilizers, herbicides, and more.

Some of our proudest work to come forward with the help of our residents are the seven parks in the process of design:

1. Ralph O’Dell Senior Center – Opened in November of 2023

2. Ousley Park Stream – Design

3. Ousley Park – Final Concept

4. Wilson Creek – Started Design

5. Parks Administration Building – Design Concept

6. Bonfire Park – Concept

7. Earthman Park – Concept

We look forward to the expansion of our Parks & Recreation fields and look forward to seeing you out on the green.
