01 THE METAMORPHOSIS Book Design
The Metamorphosis is novella by Franz Kafka, a jewish writer. The story begins with a travelling salesman, Gregor Samsa, waking to find himself transformed into a large, monstrous insect-like creature. The rest of the story deals with Gregor’s attempts to adjust to his new condition as he deals with being burdensome to his parents and sister, who are repelled by the horrible, verminous creature Gregor has become. I am asked to redesign the cover and a section of the book. I have been to Prague, where the writer’s birthplace, in order to get some first-hand visual references. Taking the inspiration from the journey, I decided gothic, seamy and gloomy style as my theme for the book. Making a classic, traditional book, I designed the cover in dark red, leather texture like a gothic bible, embossing the title of the book.
Each chapter have the main greenish color to build the intranquil, sordid ambience.
02 NHS ANTI-OBESITY CAMPAIGN Animation / Visual Identity
This is an assignment back in the studio when I was asked to create the visual identity of an campaign under NHS. This campaign was made up to build the awareness among primary students about their unhealthy eating habits and emphasis on the importance of balanced diet and the seriousness of childhood obesity issue. As our target audience are kids and their parents, I create a set of animated characters to help the viewers retain the message readily. Each characters represents different food group from the food pyramid. Moreover, with the help the appealing characters, they can free-associate with the concept and message of the campaign. I also use a “superhero versus villain” concept in the 60s animated video to help the viewers embody the values and actions to become one of the heroes and fight against obesity. The tagline of the animated video is “Pack your healthy lunchbox and be the hero.” The new logo I have create, which contains bright colors (e.g. red and yellow), suits the vision and aims of the campaign. Apart from the use of color, many information is displayed with cute illustrations to draw more attention. Furthermore, I have done a proposal discussing the cost and advertising strategy of the campaign.

03 POLITICALLY INCORRECT ALPHABET BOOK Book Design
This project was done at the end of my first year in university. The context of this book is about stereotypes towards people from different countries. From Antartica (letter A) to Zimbabwe (letter Z), I stated out the general but ironic stereotypes towards the local people in that country. I create a childish and lovely illustrations in order to create an illusion. There is famous cliche, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. In this case, the layout, style and cover of the book look completely fine and apparently aim on the younger age readers. But, when looking at the content, readers should find it politically correct or incorrect and lay doubt on the stereotypes I given. This book is to provoke readers to think twice.
04 ARABIAN  NIGHTS THE LITTLE HUNCHBACK EBook Design
For this project, I designed and produced an electronic book based on the Arabian Nights. Although the text is old, the simple, bold cartoon illustration in which I interpreted it and it can give relevance to the readers. I lay the text out in a little scrollable text box that can plausibly serve the user and to either generate or acquire imagery that supports the function of legibility for the reader. The age group of my reader is ages 8-12, who is able to read a chunk of text at an intermediate English level. Check out on https://issuu.com/ceciliaso29/docs/ ebook?e=15885922/35368790
The story displays on the iPad or on an Android tablet.
My final outcome is a working eBook — suitable for deployment on an iPad or on an Android tablet, with 30 screens.
05 Ceci's Illustration Website
As a graphic designer, it is crucial to do selfpromotion by widely using the social media and the Internet; Creating a website is the straight forward and common way to promote myself. I developed a simple interface that would address common operations: home button, next page, previous page, jump to section as well as providing hierarchically meaningful labels and navigation. But more than this I did this in a beautiful way that elegantly frames your work. I aimed to create an interactive website. thus I added a lot specific extra functionality (e.g. pop-ups) or interaction (e.g. roll-overs). This one-page website enables visitor to vie my work through the oho gallery and contact me online. The web design were done with the use of Dreamweaver (HTML 5,CSS), Illustrator and Photoshop.

06 LINGNAN UNIVERSITY HALL TEE
Commissioned work T-shirt design
The t-shirts were designed for student accommodate in Lingnan University Wong Hoo Chuen Hall. As requested, I kept the color in blue and yellow, color contrast high and worked towards the typography throughout the piece. Since only students living in Wong Hoo Chuen Hall can wear the tees, so I went with the Letter “W in the title of the Hall and design as a way of emphasizing their sense of belonging towards their hall.
07 TEK SIMKHADA'S JOURNEY IN NEPAL Blog Illustration
This illustration is created for my friend in university, Tek Simkhada. He is doing a placement in Nepal. In order to record his remarkable journey, he created a blog. Therefore, I am asked to help him design the cover photo of the blog. 08 CDSSA PRESENTS: HKUSU BUSINESS ENRICHING AVENUE 2015 Voluntary work Postcard Design

Given that the theme of that event was the beauty of nature; The tagline of the event is “Alight upon the jungle paradise. The project was commissioned by the Dessert kitchen, the brief was to create a new VIP card, along with the invitation card and coupons to support their new branch in Ho Man Tin, that would remain linked to their DK Brand, but with an identity of its own. I designed the Dessert Kitchen’s Brand Personality with a minimalistic approach, giving nod to the elegance and simplicity of Food and Beverage industries.
10 DRAWING BAG DESIGN FOR JOINT SCHOOL SCIENCE EXHIBITION 2013 Commissioned work Bag Design
As the theme of the exhibition was all about Science and exploration, the idea of the design screen-printed on the front of the bag came from the “Space Cadet Pinball”. In the game of the “Space Cadet Pinball”, players as a member of a space fleet that completes missions to increase their rank. Every bump to the pinball travelling through the table seems like visitors walking round the exhibition to explore science and to get inspiration.
11 T-SHIRTS DESIGN FOR JOINT SCHOOL SINGING CONTEST 2012 Commissioned work T-shirt design

14 CARE FOR THE SOLITARY ELDERLY Social campaign
The aim of this campaign was to raise awareness to the solitary elder in Hong Kong. Refer to my research and interviews, most of the solitary elder feel distressed because of lack of care and love from their families. Besides, because of their limits on mobility, they could just often stay at home. In this case, it may lead to depression and an increased risk of home accidents. Therefore, I created a set of postcards and poster visualising the contrast of loneliness and enjoyment of family union.
The act of sending 2 sets of postcards to the solitary elderly show the care and conciousness from the society.
A poster depicting the dream of a solitary elderly is to resonate sympathy towards them.
15 LEICESTER TRIATHLON CLUB VEST Logo Competition (WINNER)
This is a competition held by Leicester Triathlon Club, which I joined in 2014. I am grateful that my design was voted the winner of the club logo competition and was at some stage incorporated in their club kit. Their name ‘Leicester Triathlon Club’ was required to feature in my design. I kept some form of zebra stripe on the club kit as they had the pattern on their previous logo design. I also composed the silhouette of three most popular forms, involves swimming, cycling, and running in my logo design. All in all, I think I won the competition because my design is modern, delicate and fit their aims.
16 DESIGN MUSEUEM KENSINGTON REDESIGN PROJECT Coursework 2016 Branding / Identity
My approach is to focus the connectivity of people and design and utilise the architecture of new Design Museum building as visual inspiration. Considering the two buildings as a silhouette, the Kensington museum has a much more angular design, compared to the building at Shad Thames, which has a more rectangular appearance. The roof of The Kensington building is composed of triangular shapes that change depending on where the viewer stands. Yet, I deem the top view of the roof of the building as the best perspective to feature the architecture of the building. This concept is captured in the identity, where a series of in nite angles is visualised through an origami hyperbolic paraboloid pattern. This pattern is therefore symbolic of the Design Museum, allowing it to be used without text where necessary. The pattern is used broadly across all design outcomes, but also as a guide on which to create a harmonious composition. Hence, a signage system is also created from the paraboloid pattern. My final outcome consists three aspects of exploration, which are print, digital display and the urban environment, to present the identity of Design Museum. Besides, my nal outcome is a versatile identity based around connecting individuals, whether people or design. Utilising the aesthetic styling of the Design Museum roof, the concept is brought together with an angular slash on the logotype, which create bespoke typographic solutions. The Design Museum is the home of design, which boasts an identity devised to bring together individuals from all around the world to give their opinion on the world of design.
