THE NEW SPOTS
MANE ADDRESS This year, the fast-changing L.A. hair scene has welcomed a cadre of new salons owned by industry elite.
LOCKS on Lock Adir Abergel, the sought-after celebrity hairstylist who travels the globe with A-listers like Reese Witherspoon, Emma Watson and Kristen Stewart, is also creative director of the hair product line Virtue (virtuelabs.com)—“the stuff is magic!” he says—and co-owner of Adir x Lelet NY (leletny.com), a collection of architectural hair accessories of his own design. “A lot of accessories skew young and kitschy—our line offers something
sophisticated and refined,” he says. Here, Abergel shares his go-to tips: • Less is more. But using simple and chic hair accessories in groups of three takes the look to a very editorial place. • Choose your hair accessory as you’d choose your jewelry, to suit your skin tone and hair color. • A well-placed hair accessory can add detail and dimension to a hairstyle. It can make it romantic or edgy or sweet.
