Coeur d’Alene and the surrounding area is served by three local hospitals: Kootenai Health, a community-owned hospital with a wide range of physician clinics, including a family physician residency program; North Idaho Advanced Care Hospital in Post Falls is a long-term acute care hospital, and Northwest Specialty Hospital, also in Post Falls, is a specialty hospital that provides a wide range of medical and surgical services.

The region is home to a large number of doctors and dentists, urgent care centers, alternative healthcare providers, massage facilities and pharmacies. There are also several premium assisted living centers throughout the Coeur d’Alene area, as well as active retirement communities, complete with country club-like facilities and lifestyle.

Panhandle Health District provides over 40 different services to families, individuals and organizations in Kootenai, Shoshone, Bonner, Boundary and Benewah counties. From food and drinking water safety to health education and disease control, public health services are critical to ensure our community is a safe and healthy place to live, work and play. The Panhandle Health District is one of seven public health districts in Idaho responsible for preventing disease, promoting healthy lifestyles and protecting our environment. PHD offers clinical services from newborn to the elderly. Clinical services include family planning, pediatric checkups, sports physicals, basic respiratory infections, thyroid, mole removal and biopsy, minor sprains/strains and women’s health. Many of the services are income-based and have sliding fee scales. All insurance is accepted and we will work with you on payment plans if you don’t have insurance.

Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital provides longterm acute care services to patients recovering from serious illnesses or injuries. Often, these individuals require additional critical care services for medically complex conditions such as trauma, infectious diseases, wound healing, cardiovascular disease, stroke, amputation and ventilator weaning.

They are the only freestanding, long-term acute care hospital serving patients in communities throughout the Inland Northwest. Kootenai Health provides a comprehensive range of medical services to patients in Northern Idaho and throughout the Inland Northwest. The Coeur d’Alene Tribe holds an annual Pow Wow which celebrates Native American culture while providing an educational experience about their rich heritage.

The citizens of Coeur d’Alene are committed to build an exceptional collection of public art – art that defines the community and distinguishes it from others. We invite you to discover some of our local treasures and explore outstanding public art. The City of Coeur d’Alene has more than forty permanently sited works of art located in public buildings, streetscapes and parks. A city program dedicates 1.33% of the total cost of all eligible capital improvement projects to fund art in public places.

Since 2012, artists, graphic designers, photographers, illustrators, and other creative individuals residing within a 100 mile radius of Coeur d’Alene were invited to participate in the Utility Box Beautification Project. This ongoing project creates and enhances neighborhoods and community identities by turning ordinary metal utility boxes into community landmarks.

Riverstone Concert Series

4th of July Festival & Parade One of the most notable community events is the annual 4th of July Parade, festival and fireworks show over the lake at Independence Point. Praised as being one of the most spectacular fireworks display in the Northwest, this event is funded entirely by the CDA Regional Chamber through sponsorships, businesses and citizens donations.

Battle of the Border Golf Tournament To build and promote a strong Inland Northwest business community, the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber and the Greater Spokane Valley Chamber of Commerce have come together to host a friendly, annual competition to determine which state has the best golfers.

Public Safety Awards Luncheon The 1st Annual Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber Public Safety Awards Luncheon was held in 2020. This event honors outstanding individuals in our area’s sheriff, police, fire and emergency services departments. Proceeds from ticket sales are awarded to the Kootenai County Police & Fire Memorial Foundation.

After Hours Business Fair The After Hours Business Fair is Coeur d’Alene’s largest business gathering and networking opportunity organized by the Chamber each February. Business After Hours Held on the fourth Thursday of each month, Chamber members gather at a host business location. This networking event provides an opportunity for members to show off their offices or facilities to other Chamber members and the public.

Upbeat Breakfast A monthly motivational meeting that feeds the mind and keeps our members positive and informed about local issues. It also provides a monthly forum to promote their businesses and learn about important issues facing our community.

Hearts for Heroes Awards Luncheon May 2021 marks the 1st annual Hearts for Heroes Awards Luncheon, designed to celebrate and honor our region’s frontline healthcare workers for their selfless acts of heroism and commitment to protecting our families, our neighbors and our community.

Business Development Seminars Each year, the Coeur d’Alene Regional Chamber offers workshops and seminars on a variety of topics that are exclusive to our members. Legislative Affairs & Public Policy One of the Chamber’s key strategic objectives is to represent the Coeur d’Alene area business community in local, regional, state and federal legislative issues. This is done primarily by the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee. The Chamber hosts the Governor’s Address to the Business Community, the Mayor’s State of the City Address, and Kootenai County Commissioners Update.

Leadership Programs Leadership CDA identifies area citizens who demonstrate the potential for leadership. The program provides information that develops knowledge and understanding of our community, its complexities and its potential, and is designed to motivate participants to pursue leadership roles in our community.

Annual Awards Banquet Held in October, the meeting celebrates the successes of the past year and looks forward at the challenges to come. Outgoing officers and board members are thanked for their service, and new officers are installed. Awards are given for the Citizen of the Year, the Ed Abbott Volunteer of the Year, and the Committee of the Year.
