Laurie Robinson Haden is the President and CEO of Corporate Counsel Women of Color (CCWC). In 2004, Laurie founded CCWC to advance women of color attorneys and foster diversity in the legal profession. She formerly worked for 18 years in multiple leadership roles at the CBS Corporation (now media and entertainment juggernaut Paramount+), including Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel of Litigation. She has been recognized by Savoy magazine as one of the country’s “Most Influential Black Lawyers.” For seven years, she was a member of the NAACP Legal Defense Fund board. She now serves on the Board of Visitors of Indiana University Maurer School of Law at Bloomington and North Carolina Central School of Law, where she served as chair (2022-2023) and is on the Compensation Committee of the National Sales Network. Laurie earned her Bachelor of Arts from North Carolina Central University (magna cum laude) and her Juris Doctor from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law at Bloomington.

Veronica Lah

Veronica Lah is a partner in the firm’s Los Angeles office. She focuses her practice on corporate and financial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private equity, capital markets, corporate finance, and general corporate representation. Veronica represents clients on buy-side and sell-side acquisitions; divestitures; business combinations; restructurings and buyout transactions; public and private equity and debt offerings, including initial public offerings and special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) transactions; and secured financings. She also provides counsel on formation, joint ventures, and other corporate matters. Heather Ripley is a partner in Alston & Bird’s Federal and International Tax Group and a member of the real estate investment trusts and real estate funds tax team. Heather counsels U.S. and foreign businesses and high-net-worth individuals on tax-efficient structuring for domestic/cross-border investments and M&A, understanding U.S. tax compliance obligations and risks, and rectifying noncompliance issues. She advises clients on tax reporting regimes. She has also counseled charitable organizations on incorporation, tax exemption applications and restrictions, and other tax issues and provided volunteer income tax assistance for low-income individuals. Heather has been recognized as One to Watch by The Best Lawyers in America© in Tax Law and as a Rising Star by the New York Law Journal. She speaks and writes frequently about international tax topics. Heather is a member of the Harvard Club of New York. CAROLINA WALTHER-MEADE PARTNER MILBANK LLP

Carolina Walther-Meade is a partner in the New York office of Milbank and a member of the firm’s Global Project, Energy and Infrastructure Finance and Latin America Practice Group. Carolina has experience in cross-border financing and international project finance/development, with an emphasis on oil and gas, infrastructure, mining, and energy projects throughout LatAm. She represents commercial bank syndicates, lenders, corporate developers, and industrial groups. Carolina has been recognized as a leading project finance lawyer by various organizations, including Chambers Latin America, Chambers USA, and Legal 500 Latin America. Andrea Basham

Andrea Basham is a partner in Freshfields’ Corporate and M&A Group. Andrea counsels domestic/international corporate and financial sponsor clients on M&A and majority and minority investments in public and private companies. She also advises on corporate governance and securities law matters. Andrea recently represented Google on its investments in CME and Jio Platforms, Li-Cycle on its de-SPAC IPO and several PIPE offerings, América Móvil on its Chilean JV, Volkswagen on U.S. investments, and Honeywell on the JV of its quantum business. Leslie Overton is a partner in the Antitrust Group and Chief Diversity, Equity and, Inclusion Officer at Axinn, Veltrop & Harkrider in the Washington, D.C. office. Leslie draws on her experience in government and decades of practice to provide her clients with valuable insights and practical advice. She guides companies through merger reviews, civil nonmerger investigations, and criminal investigations involving federal, state, and foreign antitrust authorities. Veleka has over 24 years’ experience in the life sciences industry, having served as in-house counsel for leading biopharmaceutical companies for over 16 years and outside counsel to global life sciences clients through her partnerships at prominent life sciences law firms, including as the Chair of the North American Food and Drug practice and CoChair of the Global Regulatory Group at Baker McKenzie. Sharon O. Small is the Director and Counsel Market Access for Government Pricing and Policy at Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation, where she counsels C-suite executives on drug price reporting, coverage and reimbursement, and health care fraud and compliance related to pharmaceutical products. Sharon regularly speaks on compliance and market access topics in the life sciences industry and mentors law students and young lawyers. Cynthia T. Mazareas brings over 25 years of experience as a partner at WilmerHale to companies in the life sciences, medical device, and biopharmaceutical industries. Cynthia provides ongoing, strategic business counsel to boards, management teams, and in-house counsel, representing high-growth private and public companies in corporate matters, complex business transactions, including public offerings and venture capital financings, corporate governance, SEC, stock exchange, and Sarbanes–Oxley compliance. Cynthia’s industry knowledge, legal experience, and business acumen have helped life sciences companies navigate through complex legal and business challenges. Simone Jones Partner

J. Simone Jones is a partner at Sidley Austin LLP. Her practice includes defending clients in environmental and toxic tort litigation and product liability matters and representing corporations and executives in internal and criminal investigations. Simone defends and advises companies in emerging contaminant matters involving PFAS and other substances. She advises and defends companies on environmental justice and other social justice issues. Simone has experience successfully defending corporations in high-stakes consumer class action suits alleging consumer fraud and violations of the civil Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and other federal statutes and state laws. Kavitha Mecozzi is Assistant General Counsel, Senior Counsel Specialist at Genentech, where she focuses on health care law and counsels clients on health care fraud and abuse, FDA regulations, and other matters related to the development, manufacturing, and commercialization of products. She serves as a trusted advisor, assisting teams in compliance to meet their objectives to help patients. Kavitha also counsels on innovative, cross-portfolio tools and projects related to data, insights, and technology to further enhance business processes and execution. Kavitha has extensive experience working closely with the health care compliance office on policies, training, audits, monitoring, investigations, and risk assessments. Prior to joining Genentech, she practiced at Ropes & Gray and focused on government enforcement and litigation related to several industries including health care. Charnay Augustin

Charnay Augustin is currently a Senior Counsel at Uber, where she primarily supports Uber’s ridesharing marketplace teams, which design and operationalize the technology for pricing and matching riders and drivers using the Uber app. Charnay has over 11 years of in-house legal experience supporting clients in the media, entertainment, and technology industries. Before joining Uber, she served as Associate Principal Counsel in the Legal Department at National Geographic (a Walt Disney company), where she provided support for the company’s television productions by drafting a wide range of contracts and advising on a variety of production-related issues. Prior to her work at National Geographic, Charnay served as a Consumer Marketing and Advertising Practices Counsel at Sprint (now T-Mobile) and, before that, as an Assistant General Counsel at Radio One Inc. (now Urban One). Charnay is a Maryland native and a graduate of both Hampton University and Howard University School of Law.

Monique McNeil is a Senior Legal Counsel at HSBC, where she provides strategic counsel on commercial payments (payables, receivables, and liquidity management). Monique has worked at other financial institutions (Citi and Morgan Stanley, UK) as well as at two global law firms as a Corporate Associate. She holds a Juris Doctor and an MBA from Boston College Law School and the Wallace E. Carroll School of Management, respectively, and her Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from Syracuse University. She recently completed her Data Scientist certification acquiring special skills to convert complex data into meaningful info that helps organizations implement informed solutions. She was recognized as an HSBC Culture Hero and Legal Hero and was selected as an inaugural member of an innovation think tank. Britney A. Lewis, Counsel at Redgrave LLP, is a litigation attorney with experience representing and advising clients on substantive legal issues and procedural issues, often concerning high-stakes and complex litigation matters. Britney manages all aspects of the discovery process, including document collection and review, drafting discovery requests and responses, preparing witnesses for depositions, and taking and defending depositions. Her work has also included drafting dispositive motions and other pleadings, such as motions for summary judgment, motions to dismiss, and discovery motions. Prior to joining Amazon, she served as a Senior Trial Attorney, then as Wage and Hour Counsel at the U.S. Department of Labor, Regional Solicitor’s Office.
