CENTRAL TO RESIDENCE LIFE

LIVE WITH US!

The majority of our first-year students live on campus, and it’s a great way to experience all things Central. Our comfortable, safe, and secure campus offers nine housing options, each with their own unique benefits. Our residence halls also house Living Learning Communities (LLC) designed to acclimate students to campus and improve their chances of educational success. Each Residence Hall has vending machines (snacks & drinks), laundry services, computer labs, kitchen facilities, and community/study lounges. For more detailed information, visit ccsu.edu/reslife

JAMES HALL is a 21+ residence hall and home of the Jaguars. Co-ed by suite with three or four bedrooms sharing a bathroom and furnished living room. Rooms in James Hall are mostly doubles with a small number of single rooms.

BARROWS HALL is home of the Bobcats and Central’s only all-female quad-style residence hall. Every three rooms share a bathroom. Barrows Hall houses the Women in Leadership Theme housing designed to enhance activities that inspire women to develop as leaders. Rooms in Barrows Hall are mostly doubles with some singles.

GALLAUDET HALL is a 21+ residence hall and home of the Gators. Co-ed by floor with every three rooms sharing a bathroom. It houses the Explore LLC for undecided majors where students can discover different majors and the careers they lead. All the rooms in Gallaudet Hall are doubles.

MID-CAMPUS HALL, is home of the Raptors and the largest residence hall on campus. Co-ed by suite where two or three rooms share a bathroom and furnished living room. Additionally, it houses the Nursing LLC for Nursing and Pre-Nursing students. Interact and network with other Nursing students as you navigate the competitive and dynamic program. Rooms in Mid-Campus Residence Hall are mostly doubles along with a small number of singles.

SHERIDAN HALL is a quad-style residence hall and home of the Sharks. Co-ed by floor, three rooms share a bathroom. Students can participate in Sophomore Theme housing dedicated to student success as they transition from their first to second year at Central. All the rooms in Sheridan Hall are doubles.

SETH NORTH HALL is a traditional living style and home of the Vikings. The only First-Year Residence Hall, is co-ed by floor with one communal bathroom per floor. It also houses the Freshman LLC focusing on study skills, campus resources, and community building. All the rooms in Seth North Hall are doubles.

VANCE HALL is home of the Spartans. Co-ed by quad area where five rooms share a bathroom. Rooms in Vance Hall are either doubles or singles.

SAM MAY HALL is a traditional living style and home of the Bulldogs. Co-ed by floor with one communal bathroom per floor. All rooms in Sam May Hall are doubles.

BEECHER HALL is a traditional living style and home of the Bandits. Co-ed by floor with one communal bathroom per floor. All rooms in Beecher Hall are doubles.

Living in the dorms allowed me to join more clubs, make new friends and be academically successful. I also chose to live on campus because it eliminated the long commute.”

Central is the home of the Blue Devils! Our Division I teams have earned numerous Northeast Conference championships, so it’s easy to see why our students bleed blue. Even better, all home games are free for students.

CENTRAL TO FITNESS

The Central campus recreation department, RECentral, is in the new multi-million-dollar C.J. Huang Recreation Center. RECentral operates all campus recreation. It runs three fitness centers, indoor tennis courts, a three-lane track, and basketball courts. All campus fitness centers are free to students, faculty, and staff. Personal training is also available.

Campus Recreation provides creative and innovative wellness and healthy lifestyle-oriented programs, events, and services to students, faculty and staff through our program areas including fitness, recreation, intramurals, and club sports.

My best advice if you consider CCSU would be to ensure you get involved in a club or sport as it will be easier to get used to the campus and make plenty of friends.”

The Elihu Burritt Library provides access to print and electronic books and periodicals, media materials, and databases. We offer students a number of services and resources to aid research and learning.

My favorite club on campus is Central Activities Network (CAN). I started as general member and started to volunteer for events that they were in charge of. The position was very fun and I made a lot of connections and learned time management skills.”

Central has more than 100 active organizations and clubs on campus. You can choose from a variety of recreational and sporting clubs, social and cultural clubs, fraternities and sororities, and governmental organizations. You’ll find Central has no shortage of ways to get involved and have fun.

DEADLINES

CCSU accepts applications on a rolling admissions basis. The preferred application deadlines for firstyear students are May 1 for the fall semester and December 1 for the spring semester.

International students should apply by April 1 for the fall semester and November 1 for the spring semester.
