A Year of Champions






’21 NEC Champs
The Women’s Soccer team won its fourth straight Northeast Conference championship in November 2021 in a match against Fairleigh Dickinson. CCSU players Amanda McQuillan, Zoe McGlynn, Sydnie Dorman, and Roma McLaughlin later were named to the All-Tournament Team.

The Men’s Cross Country team took home its 10th Northeast Conference Championship in Fall 2021—its first since 2017. The Blue Devils dethroned two-time defending champion Wagner. CCSU, which set a conference record in any sport with nine straight titles from 2009 to 2017, leads the NEC in most XC title wins to date. ’21 NEC Champs

For the fourth consecutive year, the Women’s Cross Country team was crowned Northeast Conference Champions in Fall 2021. Senior Angie Rafter was named NEC Individual Champion for the third time in her career.





’22 NEC Champs
In February, Women’s Track and Field was named co-champions of the Northeast Conference sharing the top spot with Farleigh Dickinson. This is the Blue Devils’ second-ever NEC title in track and field, and the first since the 2001 season.
Double Win
Mechanical Engineering majors Avery Tolboe and Tim McGough entered their senior project, a remote control race car body designed and fabricated at CCSU, into a student competition organized by the National Society of Plastics Engineers, Thermoforming Division annual conference. The duo edged out competitors from Purdue University and Georgia Tech to win both the People’s Choice Award and the Technical Excellence Award—the first time a single team has won both awards. They are shown here at the conference with their Professor Ned Moore.
