Monthly Updates: Accomplishments & Achievements During January

Kristina Huynh, 16 (she/her)

Pittsburg, CA

Kristina is a strong advocate for using social media to share COVID-19 public health messaging. She shares

that she wants to make sure that other youth and young adults know that COVID-19 affects everyone, whether

directly or indirectly. Kristina also believes that "COVID19 impacts young people by transitioning schools to happen virtually which has a toll on many people's

mental health. Now that we are back in school it is hard

to adjust to the need to wear a mask and social distance." In order to stop the spread of COVID-19 Kristina believes that it is important to work with people in different

communities and with different backgrounds in order to create a better environment for everyone. Kristina is a firm believer that "everyone should have a say in the decisions made for the

community." Through this community first focus Kristina hopes to

reach people through her online platforms and by putting herself out there representing the COVID-19 YYA.
