The highest honor a congregation may bestow upon a faithful member is the recognition of Christian service as a member of the Elder or Diaconate Emeriti. An emeritus honor does not signify the end of one's service, rather the honor celebrates the contribution of those persons who have given of themselves for the causes of Christ's church.
