Luciano cabral speech (page 3) This 6th edition Campus CBDU magazine arrives during the full preparation for the 26th Summer Universiade that will be held in Shenzhen, China, between August 12th and 23th. Our delegation to the 2011 Universiade is the largest in the history of university sports in Brazil. More than 300 people including athletes, coaches, referees and officials.

To get here we must acknowledge the support of the Federal Government, in particular attention of the Sports Ministry, the Brazilian Olympic Committee and all sports federations that have signed partnerships with CBDU to enable the participation of our best university athletes in the 2011 Universiade.

The days leading up to this trip to China were of a lot of work and dedication. CBDU spared no effort or commitment. Our main goal was and is to offer the best conditions for our delegation, to each member of this team. We're breaking a record quantitative and hopefully also breaking the record number of medals and high technical level of our athletes and teams. Brazil is living an extraordinary moment for sports and university sports should perform its role: to become the bridge between sport participation and educional welfare to Olympism.

We also thank the State Federations and the Universities, entities and institutions that compose the system and maintains the national university sports. Our thanks especially to our coaches and athletes, the main actors in this process, and who accepted the invitation to compete in Shenzhen. And last but not least, we thank our supporters: Wilson, Itau, Volkswagen and Koch Tavares. For the next edition of Campus CBDU we hope storytelling lines of splendid and successes and glories for CBDU, for Brasil, for the national university sport and for each of the members of the delegation! Good Games!
