I would like to acknowledge my father, Henry P. Knolle and his uncle, Ed Knolle, both of whom were Jersey Master Breeder Award recipients, for the knowledge and support they gave to me. With their help and that of all the staff, we have achieved the quality of this herd. I hope that all the buyers will be pleased with their purchases and wish each continued success. Thank you, Joe Knolle

Knolle Cattle Co. is the result of many years of work in breeding registered Jersey cattle by the Knolle Family. Joe T. Knolle is a 3rd generation dairy farmer. The original dairy began in 1928 shipping cream to San Antonio by train from Sandia. After the purchase of a Sears & Roebuck milking machine the herd quickly expanded by the use of artificial insemination and the use of two great bulls, Masterman Golden Jolly and Jester Aim. Foundation cows were added from the Taft, Lassister and King Ranch. A milk processing and distribution unit was added in 1943. At the peak of Knolle Jersey Farms existence 7000 Jerseys were milked daily in 12 barns around the farm. Joe T. Knolle acquired his operation in 1973 and has continued the pursuit of excellence in cattle breeding and the growing of feed for his herd. He has continued the utilization of DHIA testing, registering and classifying his herd to obtain the best suited individuals for the harsh south Texas climate. His TMR utilizes the latest in in research and lowest cost possible with good yields of protein and fat. He has emphasized the genetic traits of sound udders and feet and legs throughout his sire selections.
