We would like to welcome you to our 55th Annual Production Sale. Each year seems to have its challenges and this year was no different. With little to no moisture in April we were expecting a year of drought but the rains started and never stopped. From the droughts in southern Alberta to the near flooding to the northwest the one thing we all have in common is not being able to control the weather. With that in mind we strive to surround ourselves with livestock that are bred to do it on their own. And by that we mean continue to cull hard. We have been topped out on cows here for a number of years but continue to keep 80-100 heifers. This in turn forces your hand to go into the herd and remove anything that doesn’t fit. At calving time we keep detailed records on what we feel is important but may not show up as an EPD. (temperament, udder score, calf vigor, feet, motherability) And we realize that there are EPDS for some of these traits, but by the time they become accurate enough to be real it can be too late. Many of the cows that we cull could go own to have several more calves but we believe there should be a difference between a breeder and a multiplier. And we are proud of the many Hereford breeders that continue to set the bar high in this regard. The Hereford breed now more than ever has extreme value to the beef industry. When we sell by the pound the combination of longevity, fertility, and disposition is where’s it at and Hereford is one of the few breeds that offers a true F1 cross! We really enjoy the cattle business and know you do to. Take advantage of our numerous years of mating and selecting livestock when you consider your next bull, replacement female, or horse. Terms & Conditions Breeding & Health This is a T.B. and Brucellosis free area. All males are guaranteed to pass tests. All cattle on full vaccination program and have had Ivomec. Pasture exposure dates are listed. Should any animal fail to be a breeder, we would like to be notified as soon as possible so as to make suitable settlement. Liability All animals will be at buyers risk as soon as sold. Sellers, auctioneers or employees are not responsible for accidents to persons or property. Announcements Any announcements from auctioneer stand will take priority over all catalogued material. Extended pedigrees available on request and if necessary EPDs and carcass data available. Insurance Insurance will be available sale day. Delivery Delivery at cost. We will combine or cooperate in any shipments where possible. Cattle are at buyer’s risk as soon as sold.
