DECREE OF PUBLICATION In accord with the norms established by decree of the Sacred Congregation of Rites in Cum, nostra aetate (27 January 1966) and of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments in Liturgiam authenticam (28 March 2001), the third edition of the Roman Missal is declared to be the vernacular typical edition of the Missale Romanum, editio typica tertia, and is published by authority of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales. The Excerpts from The Roman Missal was canonically approved for use by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Wales on 20 April 2015, and was subsequently confirmed by the Apostolic See by decree of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments on 27 November 2016 (Prot. n. 225/16/L). The Excerpts from The Roman Missal may be used in the dioceses of the England and Wales from the date of publication.
