How to use this Guide So often people looking for something good to read just don’t know where to start, nor have any idea of the treasure chest of Catholic (Christian) literature that is available. This booklet contains a list of 100 books which you might like to get to know about - especially if you’re someone who just wants to make a start and find out more about your Christian faith and heritage. We asked around 25 contributors to list some of the best ten books they’d ever read, really loved and thought valuable. We asked them specifically for the books they would recommend to anyone else wanting to enrich their Catholic and Christian faith through their general reading – without needing to be a great expert. These 100 suggestions for reading are not intended to be a definitive or exhaustive list. It’s just a start, a useful list drawn up for you by interested friends who realise how important broadening the mind and good reading is. The 100 books span biography, fiction, history, some general spiritual reading, and a bit of theology and teaching – which is not a bad list to start with. Hopefully, it should give you a taste of the wealth of good literature there is about Christianity, and Catholicism in particular. The idea is to browse through and see what takes your interest: alternatively you may be looking for a particular book or author and prefer to scan the two indexes at the back: - either way, dip in!
