Serving and Adventuring Beyond: OSLP and OBS develop a keen awareness of the needs of the local community, as well as values such as resilience to surmount problems, initiative and adaptability in improvising when plans went awry. Besides the OSLP, CJC partners Outward Bound Singapore (OBS) in building our 11 students’ character and leadership qualities through safe, effective and high impact adventure education programmes. These programmes have a service learning component as well. 81 students went to Outward Bound Taiwan (OBT) and Outward Bound Hong Kong (OBHK). OBHK comprised a 5-day trekking course, a 4-day sailing course and a 2-day service learning project. The service learning project was conducted at Crossroads Foundation, a nonprofit organisation, which collects quality excess and second-hand goods in Hong Kong. It then distributes them to the underprivileged worldwide. The students learned to be responsible and compassionate as they helped to clear and clean the organisation’s old buildings, assisted the elderly in shifting to new homes and
