This story is called, “The Transfiguration’. ‘Transfiguration’ simply means to change its appearance. When Jesus is transfigured, his appearance is changed to appear to the disciples as he really is, both God and man.

Butterflies are symbols of transfiguration. 1. Fold your paper in half, open it and choose your paint colours.

3. Then carefully fold the blank side onto the painted side and smooth firmly.

2. On one side of the paper, dab your paint to make wings.

4. Open your paper and you have butterfly wings!

6. With a black or brown marker, draw the butterfly body, legs, antennae and eyes.

5. Leave it to dry. Consider this

Lord Jesus, just as the caterpillar is transformed into a butterfly, help us to be transformed also. Turn our hearts towards you so that we might be more like you.

Why were Moses and Elijah important? These are two of the greatest prophets of the Jewish scriptures or Old Testament. Moses was the only person to speak to God face-to-face and live. Elijah heard God in the gentle breeze while praying on the mountainside.Their meeting with Jesus on a mountain shows that he is the fulfilment of God’s promises. Read to me HOME
