LAUGH, LEARN, LOVE! DELECTABLE DESIGNS TO DO YOURSELF! International artist Catherine Healey has been creating art & leading workshops since 1989. Trained in ceramics, wood & print making at Cardi University she quickly set up a reputation as a prolific community artist, creating a diverse range of community art including a giant woven willow dragon, an enormous living willow spider & over a thousand murals internationally! She has won several awards for her endeavours & her work can be found in private houses, gardens, schools, prisons & hospitals around the world.
WHAT EVER YOU WANT WORKSHOPS! YOU CHOOSE THE TOPIC & THE TIMING With over three decades of experience, we can give you a two hour taster, a delightful day, a wonderful weekend or, our ever popular “Calendar of Crafts” where you learn twelve different techniques over five days & can then, using your calendar to remind you, try out one a month for the rest of the year!
TRADITIONAL & MODERN CRAFTS FOR YOUNG, OLD & IN BETWEEN! Many of our workshops are for whole communities, creating art works in situ, using both traditional & modern techniques & tools. We can come to you or you can join us; we try & be as flexible as possible to give you exactly what you want!
WE PROVIDE EVERYTHING ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS TURN UP! We will provide everything you need to make something amazing, both tools & resources & of course we will give you step by step instruction to enable you to do it yourself! Prices on request. It’s a bit like buying a car-you tell us, how much you have & we’ll tell you what you can do with it, or book us in for regular classes or a one off special project, like a carved bench, mosaic plaque, giant mosaic chessboard, or snakes & ladders!
GLASS PAINTING PAINT YOUR GREENHOUSE! This fun workshop teaches you the basics of glass painting, using both oil & water based colours. Depending on the session, we may use stick on lead &/or try your hand at cutting glass.
BRINGING BEAUTY TO THE MUNDANE MOSAIC WORKSHOPS Bring your own pieces or buy one of ours to cover in mosaic. The only rule is that it should not be flexible! You can decorate glass, stone, pottery, concrete, ceramic & so many other things! Even a humble chimney pot can be turned into something beautiful!
FABRIC PAINTING. FOR APPLIQUÉ & QUILTING Learn to colour fabrics & then use them to create whatever you wish. Paint on silk or cotton using paints & Inktense pencils. We’ve made clothing, place mats, table runners, board games, patchworks, aprons, baby mats- what you choose to do is only limited by your imagination!
BATIK & GELLI PRINTING CREATE YOUR OWN GELATINE PRINTING MAT ! You’ll learn how to create your own “gelli” mat which you will then use to print paper &/or fabric creating beautiful designs for greeting cards, journals or fabric. Using hot wax you will create beautiful designs which you can then crackle, should you wish! We’ll even teach you a few words of Indonesian- which is where this craft originated!
WEAVING WILLOW BOTH ALIVE & DEAD You can create beautiful living willow sculptures for your school, community centre or garden. Or if you prefer for it not to keep on growing, then why not make some lovely supports for your beans? Living fedges are also available in a range of plants.
SEASONAL CRAFTS WHATEVER THE OCCASION, WE HAVE A CRAFT FOR IT! Whether it gingerbread houses, jam labels or painted plates, we can teach you how to do it. Some crafts are more complicated but every one can have a go & take something home which they are proud of. We also do bridal & special birthday parties.
MAKE CHRISTMAS WREATHS IN YOUR OWN HOME! Every year we get fully booked for our Christmas wreath-making workshops. These can be booked in advance for large groups or take place in your own home with a few select friends. Workshops can include a “Message of Christmas” talk, if requested.
WOOD CARVING MINIMUM OF ONE DAY WORKSHOP We help you create benches, story chairs or board walks. These carved sleepers (right) helped secure a silver medal at the prestigious RHS Flower Show in the summer! Your designs, or your children’s, can be used to create beautiful carved oak features.
SPECIAL PROJECTS SPECIFICALLY CREATED FOR YOU If you have an idea for a project, just ask! This is an outdoor classroom made of 8 solid oak uprights & a removable canvas roof. This project took two weeks to design & create with willing volunteers on a summer camp.

SPECIAL PROJECTS FROGS ON A LOG FOR A PRIMARY SCHOOL IN WALES This project was for the reception class of a primary school. The youngest children did the designs & then we created the log with the help of some older children aged 7 & 8. The frogs can be hidden away when not being used for teaching & the log used as a seat or balance beam.
PLEASE JUST ASK! THERE’S NOT ENOUGH SPACE There’s not enough space to show you all that we do, so if you want a specific workshop, please just ask. We’ve worked in wood, metal, plastic, leather, glass, ceramics, sugar, fabric, sheet metal, jewllery, beads,paint, papier-mâché & wool! We love recycling, up cycling & really anything creative! We also do commissions. One lady wanted to hide their family freezerso we turned it into a much more attractive (fake) apothecary cabinet!
