JOB FAIR

The Chamber facilitates activities which offers local businesses opportunity to interact and develop strategic relationships.

Welcomed 231 new businesses to the community informing them of local resources available to help them grow their business. 3-5 additional touches are made in their 1st yr.)

In 2018, the Chamber held 1 community job fair where 35 businesses participated and 300 job seekers attended.

Castle Rock Chamber’s eXcelerate Business Development program provides small businesses with the resources used by best-in-class firms, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the local, state ELECTRONIC JOB BOARD and global marketplaces. Learn more The Chamber’s Job Board is a public job at: castlerock.org/excelerate-business/ board for our members to post their employment opportunities. 102 jobs were posted in 2018. 546 individuals participated in monthly business trainings in 2018.


Promoting the Community In 2018, the Chamber facilitated or partnered with the following events: DOUGLAS COUNTY JOB FAIR– 2/1/18 35 businesses participated, 300 job seekers attended. [JAN 15, 2019] DOUGLAS COUNTY LIFESTYLE EXPO- 2/3/18 The goal is to promote a strong local economy by showcasing local and regional business products/services to County-wide residents. 76 vendors, 5,500 attendees. +343% due to Zack Parrish 5k [JAN 15, 2019] Talent Pipeline Expo ELEPHANT ROCK RIDE-6/2 & 6/3/18 The Chamber partners with the ERock promoter by recruiting 32 non-profit organizations with aid station volunteers during this up to 100 mile bike ride with more than 4,400 riders in 2018. [31st Annual—JUNE 2, 2019]

DOUGLAS COUNTY FAIR PARADE-7/28/18 A western styled parade which launched the creation of the Chamber of Commerce in 1955. 86 entries, 2,107 parade participants & 12,828 spectators. +9% Increase [JULY 27, 2019] COLORADO ARTFEST AT CASTLE ROCK-9/8 & 9/9/18 Juried fine arts show is an end of summer tradition for residents and art enthusiasts alike. Interactive family activities, live main stage/strolling entertainment in addition to the beautiful original art created by 121 artists from around the country. We had 165 volunteers and 12,000 people in attendance at this 2 day event. In 2019, the Artfest will be moving back to Downtown Castle Rock. [30th Annual— SEPT 7 & 8, 2019]

GOVERNMENT INTERESTS COMMITTEE (GIC)

The Chamber has continued to seek and maintain strategic relationships and alliances throughout the Denver Metro area and the Southern Colorado region.

The Chamber's GIC group provides our business community with a proactive voice and advocate regarding local issues and promotes economic interests, which contributes to the quality of life of Castle Rock. In 2018, the Chamber hosted 2 Horizon Series events to inform the community on hot topics/town council candidates and other town information. · State of the Town – 51 attendees · Meet Town Council Candidates Forum – 63 attendees New in 2018: The Chamber live streamed the Town Council Candidate Forum on facebook, more than 2,500 views. DOUGLAS COUNTY BUSINESS ALLIANCE (DCBA) Founded by the Castle Rock Chamber, DCBA and the GIC advise our Chamber Board of issues affecting our business community. 4 public issue forums and 9 committee interactions were conducted in 2018. COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP

LEADERSHIP DOUGLAS COUNTY One of Castle Rock Chamber’s most successful training programs, LDC develops strong community leaders— civic, business, service, religious and non-profit disciplines. LDC provides the opportunity for diverse participants to broaden their knowledge of the community and learn from each other, while enhancing their leadership skills. LDC boasts 357 graduates and 22 current class participants. The longevity of this program speaks to the continuing importance people place on leadership development. Promoting the Community RELIABLE RESOURCES

ONLINE EXPOSURE

Business directories, online resources, magazines, and area maps of Castle Rock/ Douglas County assist visitors to our community. Our resources encourage loyalty by Castle Rock residents to be their “first choice” shopping destination through advertising and partnership with local media. The Chamber educates through social media the importance of shopping local by distributing promo materials.

SHOP THE ROCK WELCOME PACKETS

Welcome Packet mailers to new residents (includes demographics, local magazines, directories, maps, and local business advertisements) continue showcasing Castle Rock as a destination spot for shopping, dining and outdoor fun. 2926 mailers were distributed in 2018. The Chamber, Town, DDA & County partners in a Community Events Mailer utilizing VisitCastleRock.org/Events as the 'official’ Community Events Calendar– Estimate of 65,000 calendars were distributed in 2018.

The VisitCastleRock.org website has increased awareness of local Castle Rock amenities for both residents and visitors by promoting community events and hospitality businesses. VISITCASTLEROCK.ORG PGVIEWS: 678,674, +13% Increase CASTLEROCK.ORG PGVIEWS: 610,990, +8.6% Increase

VISITORS CENTER

Ranked #7 on Trip Advisors: Things to do in Castle Rock list, the Visitors Center welcomed over 8,000 visitors in 2018. Extended summer hours (13 Saturdays-June/Aug). Castle Rock boasts superior customer service that emanates from the hometown friendliness that comes naturally to folks in the area. The Chamber’s Visitors Center acts as the Town’s one-stop shop for all things Castle Rock as well as a friendly, helpful face ready to assist their needs.

COMMUNITY MARKETING

Partnerships continued with Journal Communications (Castle Rock Livability magazine) and Colorado Community Media (monthly full pg ad) promoting the Chamber programs, our members, news and community events. Publications are distributed throughout town and mailed to new residents/ visitors. Both have a tremendous online presence that helps promote community.

SOCIAL MEDIA EXPOSURE

The Castle Rock community continues to gather majority of information via social media. In 2018 we merged multiple event pages to simplified messaging. We now have a total of 3 pgs: Chamber, Tourism, Events with 13,328 followers.

CASTLE ROCK ECONOMIC PARTNERSHIP

CREP continues to be an effective and award-winning alliance between the Town of Castle Rock, Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, Castle Rock EDC, and the Downtown Alliance. CREP is a coordinated multi-entity, public/private partnership, team approach to community economic development projects. This partnership is a platform for exchanging ideas and improving our work product and existing programs.
