In the 1920s, John Robert Powers arrived in New York City with aspirations of an acting career. His unexpected task of assembling a group of attractive individuals for a magazine ad led to the founding of the first modeling agency in 1923, which laid the groundwork for the modern modeling industry. He soon established the first personality development academy, creating a curriculum that focused on executive skills, modeling, acting, and social skills, which are now offered globally through the John Robert Powers System. Powers believed that everyone had the potential to be attractive by maximizing their natural qualities. He promoted the idea of "making down, instead of make-up," encouraging authenticity and natural beauty. This philosophy remains central to JRP Virtual today: Be yourself. Be natural. Be the best you can be. Notable alumni of the John Robert Powers Programs include Jackie Kennedy, Betty Ford, Princess Grace of Monaco, Lucille Ball, James Dean, Diana Ross, and many others from the political, entertainment, and fashion worlds. JRP Virtual continues this legacy, providing top-notch training and development for aspiring performers worldwide.
