For the design of my book I looked to pinterest to source my inspiration. I started by looking at layouts and design styles; I really liked the use of large letter illustration and page numbers. My final design has taken design elements from all of theses pins and incorporated them into a typography based design.

I ended up getting the content for my book from Typography Deconstructed. The process of finding content for my book was the hardest part for this assignment. I had no idea what to do a book on and every time I started to work on my book I changed my content. I ended up having a couple of options for the content. I could have done a book on serifs or on how to design a typeface or the evolution on typography or many other options. However I ended up running out of time so I settled with the anatomy of type. if I were to do this assignment again I would change the content of my book to something more useful to me.

Designing my book was a disaster zone. Everything that could have gone wrong when I printed out my first draft did. I feel that the lecture set up for this course needs rethinking because giving us the lecture on colours two weeks earlier would have saved me a lot of trouble. The colours I used for my first design needed to be changed in order to see anything I had printed. This meant that I had to go back and change every image I had made, there were sixtyseven of them, it took me a couple of hours. My final book is beautiful and I feel it is
a reflection of me as a person. Its bright, powerful and it pops. It is very different to my first draft, quoting Fred, looks like it could fit into a lingerie magazine.
