Dear Alumni and Friends of the Case School of Engineering:

Dear Friends,

Last summer I announced that I was stepping down as dean on December 31 at the end of my five-year term. Since then I’ve been working closely with President Barbara Snyder to insure a smooth transition and the search began immediately for my successor.

As I look back on the past year, I find much to celebrate, and I welcome the chance to share with you some exciting developments of particular interest to our Case alumni.

After months of extensive interviews, open forums and thoughtful consideration by a faculty-led search committee co-chaired by Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences Dean Cleve Gilmore and chemical engineering professor Robert Savinell, I am pleased to announce the new dean is one of the school’s most distinguished alumni–Jeffrey Duerk. An advocate of multidisciplinary research, Jeff has served as chairman of the department of biomedical engineering since 2008. He has spent the last 25 years working with scientists, engineers, physicians, and students to develop new MR imaging techniques, which facilitate immediate clinical utilization to improve patient care, including image guided procedures, rapid imaging, analysis and more recently in the development of Interventional MRI. A noted inventor and scholar, Jeff has published over 175 peer reviewed manuscripts, has 15 patents, 10 patents pending, and over 15 invention disclosures at Case Tech Transfer. In 2003, he and his colleagues founded Interventional Imaging, Inc., a startup medical imaging device company. He is a Senior Member of the IEEE, a fellow of both the American Institute for Biological and Medical Engineers and the International Society for Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (a Society in which he was president in 2007-2008). Jeff holds a joint appointment at the School of Medicine as a professor of radiology. He joined the Medical School’s faculty in 1988 after completing his doctoral degree. He also serves as director of the Case Center for Imaging Research and previously as director of physics research in the department of radiology at University Hospitals. Besides his Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University, he holds an M.S. in electrical engineering from Ohio State University and a B.S., also in electrical engineering, from Purdue University. As Jeff begins this important next chapter of his illustrious career, I am confident that you will support him and the faculty and students of the Case School of Engineering. Thank you and best wishes.

The College of Arts and Sciences recently made three outstanding faculty hires. Michael A. Martens earned his doctorate in our physics department, where he worked on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) as a member of Robert Brown’s research group. He then went on to Fermi National Laboratory, where he spent 20 years pursuing high energy and accelerator physics. During my own time at Fermilab, Michael and I collaborated on experiments. Now, he has returned both to medical imaging and to Case Western Reserve University. Astroparticle physicist Claudia de Rahm is pursuing research interests in cosmology and dark energy. Benjamin Nill, the newest member of our mathematics department, is the recipient of a National Science Foundation grant for his work on lattice polytopes and algebraic geometry. In May, we celebrated the opening of the Materials for Opto-Electronics Research and Education (MORE) Center, located on the sixth floor of the White Building. This interdisciplinary facility provides advanced tools and resources for undergraduate and graduate students and a focal point for collaboration with our academic and industrial partners. The university recognized the need for such a center during its strategic planning process. Now, thanks to the joint efforts of the Institute for Advanced Materials, the Great Lakes Energy Institute, the College of Arts and Sciences and the Case School of Engineering, our vision has become a reality. Finally, an extraordinary gift by a CIT alumnus will dramatically increase our ability to make strategic investments in the natural sciences. This $20 million endowment, by a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, will enable us to seize opportunities and ensure our continuing preeminence in innovation and excellence in both research and education. As Case alumni, you are already aware of the critical importance of philanthropy at all levels. But it is still worth saying: All that we achieve depends on your generosity and your enduring commitment to Case Western Reserve University. Sincerely,

Sincerely,

Norman C. Tien Dean & Nord Professor of Engineering Ohio Eminent Scholar, Physics

Cyrus C. Taylor Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences Albert A. Michelson Professor in Physics

CA A P r e s i d e n t a n d Ex e c uti v e D i r e c to r Joint Message

Dear Alumni and Friends: During the first few months of this academic year, we have had the opportunity to meet many of the students supported by Case Alumni Association. The energy and enthusiasm of these students for the Case School of Engineering is inspiring. At a reception for junior/senior scholarship recipients, one of the students shared her story with us. This student had just finished her co-op experience and was very excited about the future. Harry had the chance to share his experience as a co-op student and how much it helped him with the beginning of his career. While the world has changed since many of us were in college, the co-op experience of these students is just as important. The students we met that day expressed their appreciation of the support from the members of the Case Alumni Association.

As witnessed during Reunion Weekend, the pride of a Case grad is just as inspiring. Whether it be the camaraderie of the classes celebrating their 50th and 60th reunions or the good-natured ribbing of the alumni from the 80’s and 90’s, the pride of being a Case alumnus/a is evident. While observing alumni of all ages roaming the Case Quad and hallways, it is evident that the pride of being a Case alumnus/a is entrenched deep inside. As we begin planning for next year’s Reunion on October 4-6, 2012, let us encourage you to make your plans to attend.

Richey-Mixon Building Announced Joseph B. Richey II, a 1962 graduate in electrical engineering and applied physics from the Case Institute of Technology, and A. Malachi Mixon III made a $5 million gift to name a Richey-Mixon Building at the Case School of Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. The two longtime business collaborators built the Elyria, Ohio-based Invacare Corp. into “the world’s top manufacturer of home medical products.” The building will house the university’s think[box] programs, a collective of initiatives that seek to leverage and enhance Case’s culture of innovation.

Dear Editor: Freddie Way was one of my most memorable professors at Case. In his Numerical Methods class, he taught us that computers were tools to solve engineering problems. He used to walk into class on Monday with a grin on his face, and recount to us his exploits at the drag strip, like the time he beat a Corvette with his Corvair. He also talked about the three rules of engineering: 1. You cannot push a rope. 2. To solve a problem, you have to first know the answer. 3. And finally, in computer programming is all right to be off by “1.” His teaching style was captivating. He would often show us three ways to solve the same problem, each solution being more elegant than the previous one. He made computing fun, and as a result instilled confidence in his students. I will miss him. Karl Tubalkain ’70, Hampstead, NH

Dear CAA: Many thanks for all your effort on arranging for our 1960-61 basketball team to convene during Alumni Weekend. The evening session was a lot of fun and your display card was interesting. The slide of our team shots pre-dinner was fun. Robert Zust ’62

REUNION 2011 The 126th Annual Case Alumni Association All-Classes Banquet & Reunion Activities October 14-15, 2011

Case Men’s Glee Club

This year’s reunion theme, “IT’S ALL ABOUT YOU,” is our way of acknowledging the importance we place on our alumni. We moved the annual reunion banquet and class activities to coincide with Alumni Weekend held at the Case Western Reserve University campus so more of you could attend. The three-day event included a Thursday evening kick-off celebration with a concert by the Goo Goo Dolls, an all-alumni breakfast, university THINK forums and campus tours, and a special luncheon honoring grand classes alumni. A homecoming parade and tailgate party were held prior to the Spartans win against Hiram College. Case Alumni Association sponsored several events over the weekend. We hosted our annual all-classes banquet on Friday evening and the individual class events honoring alumni of 1951, 1956, 1961, 1966 and 1971. Several events for CIT, CSE, WRC, and CAS alumni of the classes of 1976, 1981, 1986, 1991, 1996, 2001 and 2006 were held jointly. We’ve included plenty of photos commemorating these events in this issue, as well as highlights from our awards presentation. Many alumni and friends joined us for the Case School of Engineering THINK Forum featuring news about think[box], CSE’s new initiative on innovation, design and entrepreneurship, presented by Larry Sears ’69 and Dr. Gary Wnek. Immediately following that presentation, our two Gold Medal Awardees, Frank N. Linsalata ’63 and Jerry Marxman ’56, G’59 shared thoughts on their own successful career experiences in entrepreneurship. You can read more about both of these well-received events on the pages that follow.

It’s All About You

Think Forums As part of the strategic planning process that Case Western Reserve University President Barbara Snyder began upon her arrival in 2007, all schools and departments were asked to participate. Case School of Engineering launched several institutes including the Great Lakes Energy Institute, the Institute for Advance Materials and, more recently, an institute around human health led by the medical university. After initial discussions around providing better educational opportunities for engineering students and renovated laboratories to promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship, a fourth institute emerged.

Gary Wnek, Ph.D., The Joseph F. Toot, Jr., Professor of Engineering Faculty Director, The Institute for Management and Engineering (TiME)

Think[box] is a takeoff on “Think Beyond the Possible” and “Forward Thinking” being promoted university-wide. Think[box] is really two things simultaneously rolled out across campus: a new set of physical spaces to provide students, faculty, staff and members of the community an opportunity for brainstorming, said Dr. Gary Wnek. The second part of think[box] is a bit more ephemeral but probably more important – it will be a culture focal point. “The future is connecting the two concepts in mutual ways. It is about generating and collecting ideas to and taking those ideas further than prototyping. Think[box] will provide the infrastructure and resources that could lead to commercialization of those initial ideas. It is also about increasing the awareness and focus around innovation and entrepreneurship. An engine for entrepreneurial growth is really what we are about.” – Gary Wnek, Ph.D.

While the original idea was focused on machining and fabrication, initial discussions created an “explosion of concepts.” Eventually, the Lincoln Storage Building was selected as the future site for the think[box] institute. The building consists of seven floors and 50,000 square feet of space, with access from campus and ample parking. “As the project expanded, we decided we wanted to do something unique. There are not many university-based incubators actually located on campus. At the same time, we want to have two dependent, but in some sense, separate functions – a business side and a learning side. One is educational and the other is commercial and innovation-oriented. The line between the two is going to be very porous to provide as much creative interchange as possible.” – Larry M. Sears ’69

“Out of the Box” Experiences in Entrepreneurship

Frank N. Linsalata ’63, Chairman and CEO, Linsalata Capital Partners Member Board of Trustees at Case Western Reserve University

Gerald “Jerry” Marxman ’56, G’59, Cofounder, CommTech International and Care2, Inc.

I don’t think of myself as an entrepreneur. I do not remember hearing the word “entrepreneurship” the four years I was at Case. No courses were offered to train people to be entrepreneurs. My junior year, I had this epiphany that I wasn’t going to make it as an engineer when I graduated. I took courses in accounting and economics. It led me to think I should know more about the business world to complement what I learned about engineering.

When I was at Case taking engineering, I didn’t know that I was an entrepreneur. But I think the seeds of entrepreneurship were there at that time. I had already decided that because of my love of science, I wanted to have first an engineering career and then maybe one or two other careers. I always felt I wanted to be more than an engineer.

I went directly on to Harvard, which in those days was probably a bad idea—an undergrad right into an MBA program without any work experience. Again, at Harvard we never talked about entrepreneurship. We talked about training people to be corporate executives and work for companies. As part of our course requirement, we had to do a personal career plan. I still have mine and it said my career plan was to work my way up through jobs until I became CEO or president of the company. The lesson for me has been that although I didn’t really pursue an engineering career with my Case education, it has been the foundation for everything I did thereafter. It’s a great foundation. I’ve continued to preach that it would be nice if we can get some accounting and financial training at undergraduate levels at Case. The people who do have these entrepreneurial instincts and desires can then understand the language in order to get financing or capital to operate a business. All in all, I am eternally grateful for my education at Case, and I attribute my success to it.

Winter 2011

I went on to excel in the jet propulsion industry, then as a consultant in the field of hybrid rockets. I ended up developing a theory for combustion process that is still used today. After that, I wanted to do something more entrepreneurial. I became chief operating officer at a company by default. I knew nothing about running a business. Later in my career, I formed a venture capital firm, but it was really a technology transfer firm through Stanford University. I’ve also worked with young entrepreneurs that rented an apartment from me, all graduate business students of the university. I was reminded recently that pioneers are the guys with arrows in their back. But over the years, I’ve shared with people how to do things differently. I became an entrepreneur after all.

Reunion 2011

Welcome and Program Highlights Mike Scancarello, a senior in the department of civil engineering, opened the 126th Annual All-Classes Banquet by thanking the alumni present for the scholarship he is receiving from the Case Alumni Association, which will allow him to graduate in 2012 and pursue his dream of becoming a structural engineer in industry. He also thanked the CAA for their financial support of the Case ASCE’s steel bridge competition. Scancarello introduced Harry Farmer ’55, G’65, who welcomed the attendees to the banquet. “The Case Alumni Association is proud of its history of helping students receive a great education in engineering, science and management. Because of your support of the Case Fund, hundreds of Case students will receive scholarship and fellowship support this year.”

CAA Chief Executive Officer Roger H. Cerne ’63 expressed his pleasure for once again serving the Association this past year and during the transition to new leadership. “I have been associated with this organization since 1969, as a director of council, executive director, officer and president. I can truly call the Case Alumni Association the ‘World’s Greatest Fellowship,’” said Cerne, who welcomed guests and introduced the various alumni and classes being honored. He also recognized the service of Norman Tien as dean over the past five years.

“Going into this reunion weekend, my hope is that I will have a chance to learn about the history and traditions of this great organization. I always enjoy being a part of alumni reunion weekends and hearing stories about members is enlightening. More importantly, it is being able to stand back and watch as old friends get caught up, while others have the opportunity to meet with faculty and students. And most importantly, it is being able to observe the pride that alumni have of their Alma Mater. And let me tell you, one thing I’m learning is that Case alumni are no different – the pride is evident!”

“I have a message for the new executive director of the CAA. The one thing you need to know is that we have fantastic students who become great alumni. We pride ourselves on our great undergraduate education. We have great teachers who encourage our students working in the lab as early as their freshman year.” – Norman Tien, Dean, Case School of Engineering

Past President Award

Samuel Givelber ’23 Fellowship Award

Russell J. Warren ’60 (left) with John Massie ’66, Past President and Chairman, Awards Committee, CAA

“It feels great to win this award! I knew Sam Givelber. He came to this country from strife-torn Russia as a young man, valued his Case education because he worked hard to get here and became a successful entrepreneur, an outspoken defender of American values and an ardent Case alumnus. So, you can see why it’s so special to be recognized in this way. To show you how much the world has changed since I was in high school, I only applied to Case because that’s where I wanted to go. The experience and life have shown that Case was a very good choice, because it taught me how to think and solve problems. What makes me most proud today is the economic impact Case Western Reserve is having on our Northern Ohio region and internationally through the high quality of its teaching, research and alumni. It’s great to be part of that fellowship.” – Russell J. Warren ’60

Class Challenge Reunion Trophy The 50th reunion Class of 1961 raised the most money for fiscal year 2010-11. Forty-one percent of the class, now numbering 210 members, contributed to the total of $166,414.

Reunion 2011

It’s All About You

Gold Medalist Awards

“I am really humbled by being selected for this award. I graduated in 1963 from CIT, that great class. I got my MBA from Harvard Business School and actually came back to start my career in Cleveland at Midland Ross. I suppose in that time of working on my career, I lost track of my ties to Case and the school. I really did not have that much involvement. I eventually did come back as you know and became one of the university trustees. One of the biggest challenges of my tenure was looking for a permanent president. I think we conducted a very thorough nationwide search. We had many great candidates interested in taking on the job of president of Case Western Reserve University. We hired Barbara Snyder. We felt she could do a great job as president, but none of us realized when we hired her, what a great job she would actually do. I’ve often told people and I’m telling you tonight – if I ever have a legacy for the work and time I’ve given to this university, I want it to read, “He hired Barbara Snyder.” But one person alone can’t do it. Barbara can attest to that. Our success in the last few years of turning the university around and rekindling its great reputation and raising these amounts of money has come at the hands of hundreds of alum like you. Many people in this room tonight have made seven-figure gifts. This university is on a roll.” – Frank N. Linsalata ’63

“I think most of us can count mentors who have sent us on our way. I think I have more than my share. But the only way I could have reached Case when I was at Monmouth College, which had a very strong science program, was that the chairman of the physics department there told me in my third year that I should go to Case. I told him there was no way I could go there because I couldn’t afford it. I knew I wanted to become an engineer, but I wasn’t quite sure I was going to get there from Monmouth. So my professor personally came to Case and requested a scholarship for me. When I came back from spring break, he handed me an envelope and said ‘now you have to go.’ So that’s how I got to Case. When I was in my second year here, Professor Ray Bolz took me aside and said I should go to graduate school. I had no intention because I thought it was time to get a job and give back to my parents for what they’d done for me. Professor Bolz said that he would make me an instructor, about half a notch higher than a teacher’s aide. He said he’d help me get a job for the summer. By then I saw I had something going. I discovered along the way that I was an entrepreneur. Along the way, I felt some responsibility to pass along the help I had received from so many people in my career. I would like to thank all of you for this wonderful and might I say very unexpected award. Case has done a lot for me.” – Gerald “Jerry” Marxman ’56, G’59

Case Alumni Association Annual Report

Chief Executive Officer’s Report Dear Case Alumni/ae and Friends: This Annual Report is dedicated to those who made a gift to the Case Fund® and other gifts in support of the Case School of Engineering during fiscal 2010-11. We send our appreciation to each and every one of you for your generous support. I want to thank the officers and directors of the Case Alumni Council, the governing Board of the Case Alumni Association, for their support and leadership during 2010-11. Under the leadership of Kenneth L. Loparo PhD ’77, much has been accomplished. Our return to campus in Tomlinson Hall has been important to our ability to support students, faculty and alumni. And, our partnership with University offices has improved with positive results. We also thank everyone who attended one of our events this past year as well as those who volunteered your time to contact classmates on behalf of the Case Fund. Alumni participation was up due to your efforts. Finally, I want to express our appreciation to Norman Tien for his leadership and support to the Case Alumni Association over the past five-plus years. We wish you well in your future ventures. And we welcome Jeff Duerk as the new dean and look forward to working with him to advance the school. Going forward, the Case Alumni Association will continue to serve you and the students and faculty of the Case School of Engineering with renewed zeal and enthusiasm. Our future is bright, our legacy is secure.

Sincerely,

Every Gift Counts

Case Dean’s Society® Recognizing the pace-setting commitment by alumni and friends providing Case Fund® leadership gifts of $1,000 or more. The Case Dean’s Society was founded in July 1992, to celebrate the establishment of the Case School of Engineering to carry on the legacies and traditions of the Case Institute of Technology. Each level of the Case Dean’s Society recognizes the founder and presidents of Case since the institutions founding in 1880. Annual leadership gifts to the Case Fund, Case Dean’s Society, extend the promise of a Case education to the next generation of leaders by providing funds that can be invested in scholarships, faculty, new technology and vital laboratories and equipment. We salute the Case Dean’s Society members by recognizing charter members who have continuous membership since 1992-1993 and those who have multiple years of aggregate giving. Your leadership serves as a foundation for the future.

“I want to open the doors of opportunity to the young , people who will come after me.” – Leonard Case, Jr., Founder, Case School of Applied Science

“I went to a very good high school, but during my years there, I never really felt challenged. I found high school to be pretty easy . . . a situation that most Case freshmen probably experience. As a result, I found Case to be exceedingly difficult. It certainly challenged me as I had never been challenged before. My four years at Case developed within me a study/work ethic that has helped me to be successful in my career as a metallurgical engineer, and then an engineering manager, in a major aerospace corporation. When I attended Case, my family considered Case to be rather expensive. And, during the last 40 years it has become even more expensive. The education that I received at Case, along with the work ethic that Case helped me to develop, has allowed for Claudia and me to live a relatively prosperous life style, and has afforded us a financial situation that allows us now, in our retirement, to give financial gifts to Case that will hopefully enable talented young people to attend Case even if their families do not possess significant financial resources. Attending Case in the 1960s was one of the best opportunities I had to develop my work ethics. Gifts that I can make to Case to enable the next generation to experience Case is something that I, as an alumnus, can do.” Claudia A. & Clinton E. Silverman ’69 Leonard Case Society

Case Dean’s Society Recognition Dinner Harry Farmer ’55, G’65, president of the Case Alumni Association, along with Dean Norman Tien and Dean Cyrus Taylor, hosted members of our Case Dean’s Society® at the annual recognition dinner on September 15, 2011. Many alumni and friends of the Case Alumni Association and Case School of Engineering enjoyed an evening learning from engineering students the direct impact of your gifts to the Case Fund®. Case Alumni Association scholarship recipients discussed the positive influence their scholarships have on their collegiate experience. “The Case Alumni Association has played a huge role in all of my successes at Case. Being solely responsible for my college education, living and eating expenses, car and most other financial needs, the CAA has lifted the financial burden a great deal, and I am able to focus on my academics as well as enjoying college life. In other words, the CAA gave me a chance to be a college student. Because of this, I want to thank all of you for giving me this opportunity.” – Jessica Lanzo, Aerospace Engineering Student Jessica is currently on Co-op at Swagelok and will graduate in December 2012 with her degree. She looks forward to becoming an active member of her Case Alumni Association. Thank you to all our alumni and friends who make annual leadership gifts in support of current undergraduate students.

“I am most proud of my Case education for going through and being able to graduate from one of the nationally ranked biomedical engineering programs in the country. It is very important to keep the school not only supported well, but to have the facilities and the professors around. You need the financial backing to support that. I think it’s very important for alumni to continue to support Case to keep that national ranking and keep the school strong. Ka-Pi Hoh shaking hands with Tom Seitz

“The education I have received at Case has been rigorous, and the faculty have encouraged my development not only as a researcher, but also as a creative thinker. The involvement of the faculty in students’ development makes Case a leader in training students to be independent innovators. Alumni giving demonstrates pride in our education and our wish to give back to the University community. A high level of alumni participation is an indication that a significant number of Case graduates value the education we have received, and that we want to promote the development of the Case educational environment. Being nationally competitive requires a strong level of commitment from alumni.” Kathleen M. Jagodnik G’07 Winter 2011

“My Case education was highly instrumental in teaching me to think logically in order to solve a variety of problems. My major was management science, but exposure to the natural sciences and mathematics resulted in a broad education that allowed me in later life to do well in a variety of business environments. My involvement in fraternity life enabled development of leadership and management skills, which also proved to be invaluable. A Tribute to Robert M. Ward ’41 Bob Ward graduated in 1941 with a degree in mechanical engineering. His career started with TRW as an engineer and then a division manager. He took a leave of absence to serve in the Navy during World War II. In 1957 Bob moved to California to head up the Berkeley Division of Beckman Instruments. Later, he became president of the Ultek division of Perkin-Elmer in Mountain View, California, president of Shafer Electronics and ultimately president of Ward Associates, an executive outplacement firm he founded. Bob returned to Cleveland for his 45th Reunion in 1986, the first time he had been to a class reunion. The Class of 1941 was launching its “41 for ‘91” 50th Reunion Fund Campaign, and Bob was deeply impressed by the class effort as well as the Case students, faculty and University administration. He returned in November for another visit, and we met in the Wallace R. Persons ’03 lounge in Crawford Hall. We discussed some of the needs for scholarships and labs at Case. He stated he had 10,000 shares of a stock selling at around $50/share that he would love to contribute. I recall not being able to place the decimal point! Then, he stated “$500,000!” Bob and Charlene Ward

The result was the creation of two endowment funds to be named for him and his recently deceased brother-in-law, George E. Johnson ’41, a classmate. The Robert M. Ward ‘41/George E. Johnson ’41 Scholarship Endowment was created with $200,000 in principal. Since that time, over $285,000 has been awarded to students in engineering at Case. Bob’s interest in mechanical engineering coupled with a need to completely renovate and equip the junior lab in the department resulted in $50,000 directed to name the Robert M. Ward ’41 Junior Lab in mechanical and aerospace engineering. Recognizing the need to provide annual operations support of the lab, he established the Robert M. Ward ’41/George E. Johnson ’41 Endowment for lab equipment in the Ward Lab with another $200,000 of the gift. He directed the balance to the Class of ’41 for ’91 Reunion Fund now used for scholarship support and to the Case Fund® for unrestricted priorities. It was one of the most thoughtful gifts I can remember, outright support and endowment. His philanthropy continued as he became a trustee of Case Western Reserve University donating to various University projects and programs. On his many visits throughout the years with his beloved wife, Charlene, he would meet with his scholarship students and offer advice on careers and life. Robert Ward passed away on October 28, 2011, at the age of 93 in his hometown of Portola Valley. His philanthropy will continue to help students receive a solid education in engineering as well as his imprint left at Case Western Reserve University. Roger H. Cerne ’63 Chief Executive Officer, Case Alumni Association

PROUD TO BE A CASE GRADUATE “I am most proud about the fine mentorship I received while working on my graduate degrees. Two professors in particular, Dr. Pat Crago and Dr. Hunter Peckham, were instrumental in honing my skills as a scientist and instilling in me the responsibility for using my engineering skills in ways that were of use to the rest of society. Both are incredibly ethical and kind men and continue to serve as my role models. Alumni giving is so crucial! It’s one of the factors used in ranking universities – even if you can only give a small amount, your contribution is counted towards the percent of alumni who donated. A small contribution made by many alumni has a lot of power!” ~ Anne E. Hines G’90, PhD’94
