pringtime is an optimal time of year to be in Bend. The temperature climbs during the day, but cool evenings and mornings mean there’s still snow left for skiing.

Bend residents seize every opportunity for play. Ski before work and afterward, reward yourself at thriving local breweries, cideries, distilleries and restaurants. It’s all within reach. Mt. Bachelor, the Northwest's largest ski resort, is just 22 miles west of Bend, with nearly 4,000 acres to explore on skis, snowboards or snowshoes..

In town, the new ice-rink is open for skating through March and then switches to racquet sports in April and the new whitewater park on the Deschutes River offers springtime fun for everyone. Downtown shops and businesses, including Cascade Sotheby’s International Realty, stay open late on the first Friday of each month, highlighting the local arts.
