The Santa Barbara Maritime Museum is the home of the First-Order Fresnel Lens from Point Conception Lighthouse. The 7,825 square-foot Santa Barbara Maritime Museum, located at the Santa Barbara Harbor, opened to the public in July 2000. The museum is a vital part of the community, offering educational programs, interactive displays, and both temporary and permanent exhibits, attracting thousands of visitors each year. To date, more than 81,000 schoolchildren from 140 area schools have participated in the Maritime Museum’s educational programs. The Maritime Museum is located at 113 Harbor Way, Santa Barbara. There will be a Members only Brian Fagan reception from 6:15 to 6:45pm with the lecture starting at 7pm. Admission is Free for members and $10 for non-members. Downtown Santa Barbara, a non-profit, needs volunteers to help staff the Annual Downtown Santa Barbara Holiday Parade "World A' Glow" Friday, December 4th from 5:00 - 8:30 pm. Saturday December 12, 2015 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm

(Parade begins at 6:30 pm)

Volunteers will be utilized in the assembly, disband, sponsorship, and a variety of other areas - all of which will include working with people! Volunteers must be able to stand outside in nighttime temperatures for the duration of the shift. Volunteers will receive a long-sleeve Volunteer t-shirt to wear during the parade (and to keep afterward!) as well as refreshments prior to the Parade. Volunteer Training will take place at the Downtown Santa Barbara office When: Monday, November 30th at 5:00 pm Where: 27-B East De la Guerra St.
