PASSION WILL SMOLDER & FLAME in Johan Inger’s visionary retelling of Carmen. Spain’s national dance company, Compañía Nacional de Danza, will bring Inger’s vision to life in his spectacular contemporary adaptation in two Santa Barbara performances presented by UCSB Arts & Lectures on Tuesday, March 6th and Wednesday, March 7th, at 8pm at - Crisp salt air, blue skies, and mountain tops flirting in the mist are just the beginning notes in a melody celebrating life in Santa Barbara. There are also vibrant cultural institutions and a plethora of non-profits dedicated to upholding basic human rights, the warm care of humans, and stewardship of the earth both locally and around the world. They all make their homes in Santa Barbara along with thousands of creative individuals who make Santa Barbara one of the creative hotspots in on the West Coast. VOICE Magazine celebrates them all... the romance, beauty, ambience, creativity, big heart, and cosmopolitan nature of our little city by the sea.
