Letters to Santa

Write a letter to Santa and await his reply! Mail or drop your letter o in Santa’s red mailbox at the Community Center.

Santa is very busy this time of year! To help him out, all letters must include the child’s name, age, address, plus a self-addressed stamped envelope so Santa can write your child back. Your child’s original letter will not be returned. This activity is free!

DRIVE THRU VISIT WITH SANTA

Sunday, December 11 at Lions Park

Santa is coming to Cary and wants to see you…in your car! Santa will have a 2-3 minute visit with each car, giving children the opportunity to share their wish list and receive a goodie bag for being on the nice list. Santa will also pose next to the car for a picture that will be shared with you from the park district after the event. Festive outfits, hats and car decorations are welcome to help get into the holiday spirit!

Pre-registration is required! Space is limited. Fee is $6 per vehicle (only one person from your vehicle needs to register).

HOLIDAY LIGHTS Decorating Contest

Brighten the town and spread holiday cheer by competing in our Holiday Lights Decorating Contest! Use your imagination and create your best outdoor holiday scene in your front yard. Park District staff will serve as the judges and pick the top 3 winners to receive a prize.

l The contest is open to Cary Park District residents only. l Decorations must be visible from the street. l Please refrain from hiring decorators. l Judging will take place December 21 between 5 - 7 pm. l 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners will be contacted

District’s Facebook page. l By registering for this contest, participants agree to have their house and light display used for social media purposes. All participating houses will be showcased on our website and the Park District

Holiday Craft and Vendor Show

Holiday Craft and Vendor Sellers Wanted

Register now to sell your wares at the Holiday Craft and Vendor Show. Space is limited. Vendors will be limited to one representative per company on a first come, first served basis. No food or drink for immediate consumption may be sold. Seller set up may begin at 7:30 AM. Electricity will be available, but please bring your own extension cord. For more information, contact Katie Tarosas, Facilities & Program Manager at 847-639-6100. If you are interested in selling at the Holiday Craft & Vendor Show, please complete the application found on page 9 or in the forms section at carypark.com.

Warning of Risk: Recreational activities/programs are intended to challenge and engage the physical, mental, and emotional resources of each participant. Despite careful and proper preparation, instruction, medical advice, conditioning, and equipment, there is still a risk of serious injury when participating in any recreational activity/program. Understandably, not all hazards and dangers can be foreseen. Depending on the particular activity, participants must understand that certain risks, dangers, and injuries due to inclement weather, slipping, falling, poor skill level or conditioning, carelessness, horseplay, unsportsmanlike conduct, premise defects, inadequate or defective equipment, inadequate supervision, instruction, or officiating, and all other circumstances inherent to indoor and outdoor recreational activities/programs exist. In this regard, it must be recognized that it is impossible for the Cary Park District to guarantee absolute safety.

Waiver and Release of all Claims and Assumption of Risk: Please read this form carefully and be aware that in signing up and participating in Cary Park District identified programs/activities, you will be expressly assuming the risk and legal liability and waiving and releasing all claims for injuries, damages, or loss which you or your minor child/ward might sustain as a result of participating in any and all activities connected with and associated with said programs/activities (including transportation services/vehicle operation, when provided).

I recognized and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury to participants in these programs/activities, and I voluntarily agree to assume the full risk of any and all injuries, damages or loss, regardless of severity, that my minor child/ward or I may sustain as a result of said participation. I further agree to waive or relinquish all claims I or my minor child/ward may have (or accrue to me or my child/ward) as a result of participating in these programs/activities against the Cary Park District including its officials, agents, volunteers, and employees (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Cary Park District”).

I do herby fully release and forever discharge the Cary Park District from any and all claims for injuries, damages, or loss that my minor child/ward or I may have or which may accrue to me or my minor child/ward arising out of, connected with, or in any way associated with these programs/activities.

I have read and fully understand the above important information, warning of risk, assumption of risk, and waiver and release of claims. If registering via fax, your facsimile signature shall substitute for and have the same legal effect as an original form signature.

Photo Release: The Cary Park District takes photos and videos of participants in programs, during special events, and in the District’s parks and facilities. By signing the waiver, you are giving permission to the District to use these photos and videos in our publications and on our website and social media outlets without further permission and without any compensation to you. All photos and video are the property of the District.
