Originally from Puerto Rico, Carlos T. Acosta Pérez obtained a Bachelor's in Environmental Design at the University of Puerto Rico and an M.Arch Graduate from Pratt Institute, which led to becoming visiting Assistant Professor of the same institute. He is currently living in New York City & Adjunct Faculty Visiting Professor at NYIT School of Architecture. His architectural research focuses on the cultural identity of a space, the use of alternative materials and fabrication, and environmentally responsive structures. In addition, he believes that architecture should focus on designing spaces adaptable for recurrent shifting needs of the people and community surrounding said projects.
