Dopo un’esperienza di oltre 40 anni nel settore tessile, Gianni Erba, nel 2005, fonda INDIKON, azienda leader nella produzione e nella distribuzione di tappeti. Avvalendosi di telai e centri di produzione in India con la consociata Berry Mills, INDIKON produce tappeti tessuti o annodati esclusivamente a mano su telai orizzontali o verticali, garantendone l’unicità.
After 40 years of experience in textile sector, Gianni Erba founded INDIKON in 2005, a leader company in production and distribution of carpets and rugs. With looms and production centers, INDIKON, together with the Indian subsidiary company Berry Mills, produces hand-woven and hand-knotted carpets on vertical and horizontal looms, assuring the uniqueness of every single piece produced.

In risposta al cambiamento costante delle esigenze d’arredo, INDIKON ha deciso di lanciare un nuovo marchio per lo sviluppo di tappeti di stile e forte personalità. Carpet Edition è una serie di collezioni dal design contemporaneo che nasce dalla collaborazione fra l’esperienza di INDIKON acquisita negli anni, l’artigianalità a disposizione e la creatività di figure professionali come architetti e designer. La collezione Vintage e Patchwork, composta da tappeti storici reinterpretati in chiave moderna, segna il punto di inizio della Carpet Edition e una nuova avventura per Indikon.
As an answer to the continuous evolution of interior design, INDIKON launches a new brand for the development of stylish modern carpets. Carpet Edition is a series of contemporary design collections taking shape from the collaboration between the experience of INDIKON, the craftmanship in hand and the creativity of designers and architects. The Vintage and Patchwork Collection, that includes re-visited ancient carpets with a contemporary style, represents the starting point for the Carpet Edition and a new Indikon’s adventure.

THE COLLECTION
La collezione Vintage e Patchwork è la rivisitazione in chiave moderna del tappeto Orientale, senza rinunciare al fascino del pezzo antico annodato a mano. Si tratta di tappeti in lana di fine ‘800 o primi del ‘900, provenienti dal Medio Oriente, Persia e Turchia. I tappeti vengono selezionati uno a uno, decolorati con un’esposizione al sole di 5-6 mesi, poi lavati, asciugati ed infine sottoposti ad un nuovo bagno di colore che gli da nuova vita. I toni spaziano dai più classici del nero, grigio e beige fino a tonalità più accese come il rosso, giallo, blu, viola, arancio e verde. L’intensità dei colori varia in base al tipo di lana utilizzata nel tappeto d’origine.
The Vintage and Patchwork collection is the contemporary re-interpretation of old Oriental carpets, preserving the charm of the antique hand knotted pieces. They are Turkish, Persian and from the Middle East carpets, dated end ‘800 or early ‘900. Each rug is selected one by one, decolorized with a 5-6 months sun exposition, then cleaned, dried again and finally re-colored. Colours go from the classic black, grey or beige to higher reds, yellows, blues, violets, oranges or greens. The colour intensity depends on the kind of wool used in the original carpet.

The Vintage carpets are restyled antique rugs that mix ancient sophistication to contemporary design. They are unique pieces and the dimensions vary depending on the original size.

Capita che i tappeti antichi selezionati presentino danni irreparabili, come buchi, strappi o abrasioni. Da qui l’idea dei Patchwork, tappeti vintage che, dopo le operazioni di tintura, vengono tagliati a quadrotte di varie dimensioni e riassemblati da lavoratori esperti, dando vita a risultati sempre diversi, nel rispetto dei materiali d’origine. I tappeti patchwork sono disponibili nelle dimensioni standard 240x170, 300x200 e 350x250 cm e anche su misura.
Sometimes the carpets selected are irreparably damaged and have holes, rips or abrasions. This has been the starting point for the Patchwork collection where the vintage rugs are cut and sew back together by expert weavers, creating a completely new design in respect of the original materials. The Patchwork carpets are available in the standard sizes of 240x170, 300x200 and 350x250 cm. Custom sizes are also available.
